Just like sorta of add-on to szwaan's answer:

You must have a memory stick to put music into your psp such as mp3 files, the psp itself does not have any internal memory for you to store any music files whatsoever.

if you got a memory stick already, connect your psp to your computer via usb cable, select usb under the setting section of your psp, and the memory stick drive will appear in your "my computer", so you can drag your music into the Music folder of your memory stick and play them from your psp.

If you have the little memory stick [duo stick pro something]
you should be able to get a little "box" that will allow you to stick several kinds of memory cards in it and it attached to a USB cable.

I'm not very knowledgeable on the PSP subject but maybe connect the PSP with a USB to the computer, if that's possible.

Hope this helps.

Dont kno how to put music and videos in my psp

Putting music or videos on the PSP is a fairly simple and straightforward process.

What you'll need:
  • a mini USB to USB cable (to connect the PSP to the computer)
  • a memory stick (to store your music and videos)
Instructions:
  1. Put the memory stick in the PSP.
  2. Connect the PSP with the mini USB to USB cable to the computer
  3. On the PSP, go to the settings menu and select "USB Connection."
  4. Your computer should recognize that a device has been connected to it, open up the device (your PSP) inside a file viewer, such as windows explorer. There should be a few folders here one named Video and one named Music.
  5. Add the music and video files to these folders, and press O(circle) on the PSP to end the USB Connection.
  6. If all has gone right, and the files are the correct formats, you should be able to enjoy your music and videos on your PSP.

Hi i cant figure out how to put music on my psp

1. Connect your PSP with your PC using the USB cable.

2. Use your PSP interface and hit HOME button, and then go into "Settings". Here you will have to use the directional button to find "USB Connection"

3. Once the connection is made, you will need to check your PCs available drives. You can do this by going into "My Computer". Your PC should detect your PSP as and additional drive. It is not much different from using portable drive or thumb drives actually.

4. Click on your assigned PSP drive.

5. Create a new folder call "music" on your PSP drive

6. Select your MP3 music from your PC and drag it into your "music" folder on your PSP. Note that all this is done in your PC interface.

7. When all the desired MP3 are transferred, get out of the USB connection mode by pressing "O" on your PSP.

8. Find the music area in your PSP, and select your memory stick. Search for your "music" folder and you are good to go.

How to download games and music from pc to psp? why cant get connection using the usb cable?

I don't know about games but for music use this link to another problem I answered earlier http://www.fixya.com/support/t6112097-download_music and the USB cable it might be that you have only put the plug that can be used to charge the PSP to put it into USB mode it has to be at the PSPs main menu or whatever you want to call it and the USB cable has to be plugged into the top of the PSP.

How to put music on psp?

You need a memory card for your psp, as well as a usb cable....plug the usb into your pc and go to system settings in the psp and turn on usb mode (your computer should recognise the psp as an external drive in the MY COMPUTER window) open the drive. Open the file called PSP and look for a file called MUSIC, open it then copy your music files to this folder......If you do not see a psp file on the memory stick duo just save a game to it from the psp.....this will create the folders you need, then repeat my instructional...Good Luck

About music

i have placed an answer to your previous premium post, this may work as well as my first suggestion and Marked's.

  1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable. (about $10: buy a USB cable for your PSP)
  2. Press the "home" button on the PSP (it's a tiny button to the lower left of the screen) then use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
  3. Press the "X" button (you got it, the round button with the "X" on it) and your PSP should display "USB Connection".
  4. In a moment or two your computer should tell you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
  5. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
  6. Now create a new folder on that drive and name it "psp".
  7. Within the new "psp" folder create another folder, and name it "music".
  8. Copy your desired mp3 files into the new "music" folder.
  9. When you're done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button on the PSP to get out of USB connect mode.
