Model 28112ee2-4 dect 6.0

My ge phone quit ringing for incoming calls. I plugged in an old hard line phone so I can hear incoming calls. I can answer on the cordless and talk normally. I can place calls ok too, It just does not ring neither does the 2nd hanset ring for incoming calls. I have lost/misplaced my users manual.I really like the cordless phone.

    I have the same model phone and neither handset rings with an incoming call and the answering machine does not pickup.

    I'm having the exact same problem! I can't find my owner's manual either - these phones are only 6 months old. Please help!! I tried unplugging both phones and tried to reset them - like I just got them, but nothing I've tried works :(

    mine didnt work either....not i just fixed it....just unplug the power to your main answering machine set... and plug it in then call from another phone...if not then unplug the battery from phone

Do what I am going to do. Throw the whole D*AMN phone system in the garbage, vow to never buy another GE product and go out and get a better phone.
We have had nothing but problems with our 28112EE2A portable phone system and no one seems to be able to help us.

SOLUTION: My handsets stopped ringing after power was stopped to the main base, too. I put one on the main base and that one started working but the others still didn't work. So I put the other phones on the main base while I called from my cell and let it ring. The other phones started to ring and work again.

For the handset, you can use the menu button to check the HS Setup settings. For the answering machine, you may have pressed the side button that turns it off. It would say "off" on the lcd if you did that. According to the manual (I just bought one of these).

Phone rings answer phone can't hear
I would GUESS that you have VoIP and the problem is with the provider. If you have one, plug in anon-battery hard wired land line style. If you don't, get one. If cell towers go down, you might still have service. Put it on a shelf until it is needed.

Phone rings once, but then stops ringing and I can't answer the call
If you have a landline, most likely you have a short in it. Not enough to kill line, but, when the 90 volts a.c. comes in to ring it jumps short. The short answers the phone.. It doesn't stop out going but can cause static. Check the line at the box outside. if bad there call your phone company, if good there, trouble is in house

Receiving faxes whilst connected to a phone line automaticly
Check video for 'fax receive set up' in similar model:


Manual receive: In coming call receives like telephone
Fax/tele: Incoming call rings like telephone if its not fax, if incoming is fax it will entered in fax mode automatically
Automatic: Incoming call converts in fax mode after ring count ends( ring to answer option also avail in fax set up mode rage 1-6 rings)
Fax: Incoming calls straight away converts in to fax mode.( this option only for dedicated fax lines)
Set up your best option as per your requirement.

How do I increase the rings before message answers?
Setting the Number of Rings (Excerpt from the Uniden Dect 1580 Phone manual

The ring time setting allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your answering system plays the outgoing message. You can set the ring time to answer after two, four, or six rings. If you enable the Toll Saver (TS) setting, the answering system picks up after two rings if you have new messages, and after four rings if there are
none. This way, if you make a long distance call to check your messages, you can hang up after the third ring to avoid long distance billing charges.

  1. Press Menu/Select.
  2. Select the Ans. Setup menu, and then the Ring Time submenu.
  3. Move the cursor to select a ring time (Toll Saver, 2 Times, 4 Times, or 6 Times).
  4. Press Menu/Select. You will hear a confirmation tone.

Phone won't ring with incoming calls
I just bought a new Uniden DECT 6.0 phone and had a similar problem. It wouldn't ring when plugged into my Linksys voip router, but my old 5.8 GHz did ring. It would get a dialtone and make calls, but when called via an outside line, it would appear as if it was ringing. If I picked up during this "silent ring," it would answer and take the call. It wasn't a ringer volume issue. I called tech support, they said on the main headset, unplug the battery, then unplug power from the base, then unplug the phone cord from the base. Wait 15-30s. Plug the phone cord, then power, then reinstall the battery. Press the End button on the phone. Put the phone on the base for 15-30s. Pick up the phone. Press and hold the Find button on the base. Do this Find thing 3 times. Put the phone back on the base. Wait 10-15 minutes. Then try calling it to see if it rings. Worked for me, finally got it to ring before I decided to return it.

Disconnects incoming calls after one ring
The problem may be a short on your line. (Have the local Teleco check your line.) If you have other phones, you may want to check them for dial tone(DT) when this happens. If you have no DT, your cordless may be the problem...unplug, and let charge overnight. If problem continues, replace the battery in cordless, or discontinue use.

I have a GE model 28213 DECT 6.0 home phone that I can't get to ring when someone calls. I can set the phone to ring 5, but when I call the phone it does not ring it just flashes.
I have a GE model 28112EE2-A DECT 6.0 with a similiar problem. I have had it for over a year and sometimes it won't ring but it flashes. What I did was unplugged the power for about 20 seconds and plugged it back in. Then it was fine. Hope that helps.

Incoming Call not Ringing
Either call line 3 first, or make your phone ring :-)

What might be the easiest is to swap modular plugs in the back room between 2 and 5. That way, you get your old extension back and everything will work as it did.

If you can't do that, then you're going to have to do some system programming to turn on the ringing on your phone. If you have a TA series system, you should be able to do it from either the PC or a phone connected to jack $1. If you have another model, you should have a system manual on how do make programming changes.
