My g42ng camera keeps coming up with a card error. I just put a brand new card into it

Take the card out and check if the lock switch is in the locked position. You need to move it to the unlocked position. That means moving the switch away from the SD card pins and towards the back of the card. If the lock is damaged or loose, you may need to replace the SD card. To see what the lock looks like, see https://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1102/~/sd%2Fsdhc%2Fsdxc-memory-card-is-write-protected-or-locked .

Sometimes, you need to use a computer to format the SD card. This can happen when the card was initially formatted to be used with a different device. Then return the card to the camera when the camera is off. Follow the steps to select the Custom setting and format the card again in the trail camera. See page 20 of the manual, https://www.stealthcam.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2017/12/STC-G42NG-KPT.pdf . The last thing to try is a firmware update of the camera.

I hope this helps.

When i try to format my micro sd card system shows remove write protect how can i format it

Hi, i have here a photo that will show you on how to remove write protect on a micro SD.
1. You need to insert your micro SD into an adapter. 2. Unlock the micro SD through your adapter as shown below. 3. Once done, your micro SD is no longer write protected. eibraz_16.jpg

NOTE: The lock switch doesn't lock the micro SD into the adapter; The lock switch doesn't lock the data on the micro SD; The lock switch simply tells the "user" not to write. It just says "please, don't write me."
I hope this helps.

Everytime i try to take a picture it says card error

Hi, try to format your SD Card on your camera (backup pictures first).
If you can't then try to format on your PC. To format on your pC do the following steps:
1) insert your SD card
2) right click the SD Card Drive (make sure you select the correct one) choosing the wrong
drive would cause BIG problems for you. If you don't know which drive it is Do Not Continue
3) Select Format.

If you PC doesn't format properly or has a problem with the card then you know the problem
is the card and not your camera. Make sure also that the SD Card is not Locked.

2GB Micro SD needs format code that I never gave it

Hello,

You can format your micro-SD Card using a software which you can download by clicking this link. I uploaded it to my FTP site for you and it will be there for a limited time. Download that file and save it to your PC. Then unzip that ".zip" file.

If you format micro SD card connecting it to your PC via USB port, it may not ask for password. (I think your phone asks password to format.)

To format your micro-sd card:

- First plug in your micro-sd card into you PC.

- Run the downloaded "HPUSBFW_2.2.3_MASTER.exe" file.

- In the program menu window, select the device (your memory card).

- Select FAT32 as file system,

- Confirm that all the format options unchecked. (Uncheck the quick format option)

- And click the "Start" button to begin formatting.

Hope this helps you.

Error 30

The "E30" error code indicates reading/writing data on a SD card has failed. Especially, the error code "E30" may appears when you tried to remove a SD card while the camera was processing data. Solution To clear the "E30" error, try performing the following procedure. 1. Try using another SD card. If you have another SD card, try loading it in the camera. If the error code is not displayed when the other SD card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera. 2. Use your computer's ScanDisk utility to check the SD card for errors. Use ScanDisk to check the SD card for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your operating system or Windows Help for further instructions. (If you are using a Macintosh, use the "Disk First Aid" program to check for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your Macintosh OS for further information.) Be sure to back up the data on the SD card on the computer before you check the SD card. If a card error or card failure occurs when you use your computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card. Follow ScanDisk's on-screen instructions to solve the problem. 3. Format the SD card with your camera Try to format the SD card with your camera. Please refer to the "Camera User Guide" for your camera for instructions on formatting SD cards. Also, please note that formatting a SD card will erase all data on the card. Once the SD card is formatted, follow the procedure described in step 2 above and use your computer's ScanDisk on your computer to check the SD card for errors. If a card error or card failure occurs when you are using computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card.
