What size fuse fits electric fireplace insert DBL-2000 DZ1 i know its 250 volt but dont know the amp. thanks

I suggest you check that voltage as I just looked at specification and it said the fire is rated at 1500 watts at 125 volts and for that a fuse of 15 amps is about right.
If it really is 250 volts a fuse of 10 amps is the nearest commonly available to the ideal of 8 amps (slow blow types).

I just bought a Briggs and Stratton pro series model # 30338 10, 000 watt I was trying to run my clipper masonry saw that has a 23 amp 208 -236 volt 3700 watt single phase electric motor. It ran it with #6...

There is just too much resistance in that cord. Get a 12 gage extension cord. And yes I think you burned out the generator due to severely overloading it.

What amperage is a 18 year old 24s pro tanning bed

Depends on how long the cord will be. The data plate on the bed should give you the amperage. If it only tells you the wattage used divide the watts by the volts to give amps. I wouldn't expect anything above 5 amps so the cord should be 12 gauge wire.

Your question was worded poorly and it's difficult to understand what you are asking. As a guess, if you are looking for a 30-amp adaptor cord set, perhpas this will work:
Conntek 20601 25 Foot 10 4 30 Amp 125 250 Volt 4 Prong L14 30 Transfer...

If it's a 3-prong adaptor:
Camco 55333 30 AMP 3 Prong Generator Adapter

Or a 15 to 20 adaptor:
Coleman Cable 09020 12 3 9 Inch Generator Cord Adapter 5 15P to L5 20R

Spring loaded connectors that hold wire into each hole

Hi Chris,

According to page 31 of the brochure, the switch accepts up to a #18 gauge wire ans is suitable for a 6 amp load at 125 volts or a 3 amp load at 250 volts. I recommend use of a solid conductor for this switch - but you could use a stranded wire type with similar results if you "tin" (solder) the wires first. I would not recommend the use of stranded wires with this switch. If you attempt to push a larger wire into the terminal opening, you could damage the spring metal contacts - rendering them inoperable.

The National Electrical Code limits the smallest sized wires installed in buildings to a #14 gauge wire. This is two sizes greater than the 18 gauge wire allowed by this switch. For this reason, the switch is designed to interconnect fixture wires only - not for use between the home wiring and the fixture wires.

If you need to connect a switch between the home wiring and the fixture, you should use a switch that has wire leads on it already, or install a short length of the smaller 18 gauge wire with an insulation rated for at least the voltage of the circuit (thermostat, doorbell, network, telephone wire is NOT acceptable) into the switch, and use a wirenut to connect the home wiring to the 18 gauge wires.

I hope this helps & good luck!

I need to find the total amperage used by an Alpine Hurricane 2100 GPH Pump. We're wiring for our pond, above ground pool pump, and some lighting and want to get the correct size wire.

The pump is 125 watt so takes about 1 amp at 10 volts or 0.5 amps at 230 volt. You should be ok with using 1.5 square millimeter NYMJ wire. If the wire is liable to be damaged you may need to use armoured cable. If you are in the US and are more familiar with wire gauge sizes I can look up the equivalent wire size for you.

How to wire the tuner and amp what wires do i need to get it to work

In most cases, you need a pair of Red/White RCA cables. Connect one set of ends (1 red + 1 white) to the external tuner's output and the other (white + red) to the input on the Amp.

Then you need double stranded wire to connect the speakers to the amp. one x double stranded wire for each speaker. You can use electrical cord from the hardware store (e.g. 18 gauge wire) or you can buy some speaker wire (16 to 20 gauge - use lower number wire (thicker) for higher power amp). 16 to 18 gauge wire for a 100 watt per channel amp if your speakers are less than 15 feet from the amp (wires are less than 15 feet long). If longer than 15 feet, use the 16 gauge wire. You can use 18 gauge for most anything else.

I have a maxstar 150 tig welder that i take with me in our race car trailer, the trailer has a 6.5KW onan NHE generator in it, the welder fails to turn on with this generator, i checked volatge and freq...

Here is the spec sheet for your welder. The only problem that I can see is maybe your power cord is too small. As you can see on the spec chart, the minimum the machine will draw at 115 volts is close to 20 amps. Now your have to multiply that by 1.5 for transformer surge. So now you are looking at 30 amps, which means you will need size 10 gauge wires in your extension cord. If you are going to do some heavier welding, you may even need to go to a #8 cables. What happens also, when you try to draw a lot of current, the generator will bog down, thus providing less power. It would be better if you could use 230 volts. https://www.millerwelds.com/pdf/spec_sheets/DC27-1.pdf

Motor smokes

If an electric motor is smoking, most likely it is in the process of burning out the windings in the motor. This usually starts from using an extension cord that has too small a wire or a cord that is too long. when you do thid you are forcing the motor to pull more amps than it should to make up for the voltage loss in the cord.
The fuel for the electric motor is a term called watts. Watts equals volts times amps. If the voltage drops then more amps are needed to feed the motor enough watts. This caused the motor to over heat and this melts or breaks down the insulation on the windings. When this happens the motor starts to short out and once this happens then you can not save the motor.

Electric lawn equipment should be used with #14 or #12 (never use #16 or #18 gauge ) guage extension cords and should not be used with cords longer than 50 feet. Also you should not run the equipment more than 10 minutes with out a 30 minute rest.

Low voltage only or can timer be used for 110 v

1 hp= 750 watts
125 vac = 125 volts alternating current, wall outlets
5 amp= 5amps

125vac x 5amps= 625 watts

a timer is a switch with a clock on it. just like a switch in a lamp cord.
