My remote does not turn on the tv and control the volume. Can you give me some codes to try for a vizio tv?

You don't program the TV to the remote, you program the remote to the TV

Try to set it with an other code said to Vizio. You might have to check all the codes, and to select one; which will give you maximum functionality with the TV. This is a trial and error procedure, and is true to all universal remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.

The comcast codes will give u a list to try just start going down them but not all of the codes are compatable

Hey sherryg98, it sounds like you have a right code, but may not be a code to give full functionality as there are many codes for a Vizio TV.

Some codes you can try are 627, 766, 505, 006, 232, 458, 500, 670, 678. Depending on the model of your remote there may be different codes available. I've given the steps to address a remote below just in case.

Addressing Remote to TV:

1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

The Code for the Moxi Cable box remote control for VIZIO TV's is "1178". I just programed my 47" VIZIO TV with this same code

Maybe too late for you but ATT just gave me a code that works with my Vizio plasma. Code is 1343. Even the mute works correctly. They gave me some others to try but I didn't need them. Other codes were 1018, 0030 and 0056.

I contacted Vizio the other day. They tell me that they use the same generic codes as LG. I have Suddenlink Cable, formerly Charter, so I still use the Charter remote. My remote only needed 3 digits and I have noticed that many need 4 or 5. I can tell you that the LG code worked for my tv. I can power on/off, volume, and change the channel. All other functions require the manufacture's remote. The code I used is 005. There was also 004 but that did not work on my tv. Hope this helps someone!
