It is unlikely that the streaks are caused by the light being too bright. It is probably a flourescent tube and needs replacing.you need to write the model number of the scanner to get this help.

My husband and I did the exact same thing for our grandson when he was 8 months old. We pulled the car out of the attic last night and the battery did not work. My husband called the manufacturer customer service at 714-256-9888. He was told that the batter was too old and would have to purchase a new one. My husband called around for the item description that they suggested and found a comparable battery at Interstate Battery in our hometown. Good luck. I know we were very disappointed when this happened, but there is hope. Hope this helps.

Go to Advance Auto and ask for a $15 battery. these are new batteries returned because the customer bought the wrong item. they have a 90 day warranty and are $15 to $20. or simply return the battery you just purchased, and exchange it but get it tested before you leave the store.

the battery isnt lasting because it needs to be fully discharged (drained) before it is recharged. (this is only for nicd batteries)

I have purchased 2 remote controlled toy cars from Costco over the years. These New Bright batteris and charges last only a few charges, and then they go bad. I am disappointed. I will go to Walmart and buy a new battery and see if it works better, if not, i will return to Walmart.
