The ease of repairing Seiko watches.

Because Seiko spare parts are not readily available, watch repairers who do not have an account with Seiko state that Seiko watches are very difficult to repair and service. Is this true?

No. First off no watchmaker has a "parts account" with Seiko. Seiko only sells watchbands to watchmakers. All other Seiko parts are sold through supply houses.

Seiko parts are not hard to find most times. The very old Seikos will have parts issues and some of the current styles of Japan only Seikos will not have parts available.

Case tubes for all Seiko watches are not available at all.

Finding parts for Seiko watches requires the use of the watches model number which is on the case back of the watch. The number listed in the title is not a model number. The SKA098 is a retailers number so the retailers can reorder the watch. It does not cross reference for parts.

There are many watchmakers that don't want to service Seiko watches so they can and do make up all kinds of stories as to why it is impossible to repair them and so on.

Actually Seiko is much better about parts supply than any of the Swiss watch companies.

Hope this helps.

What year is a pulsar V031-5080

https://picclick.co.uk/Pulsar-Ana-Digi-Gold-Tone-Watch-V031-5080-302636375150.html

Watch for sale dated November 1985.

Mens Pulsar Ana Digi Watch v031-5080 - Gold Tone - Spares or Repairs

Super condition gold tone ana digi watch
Build date Nov 1985 (see code on photos)

Very light wear, nice clean crystal, case and original Pulsar strap - see photos

Worked perfectly up until a few months ago - then 'had a moment', started flashing, then died and refused to fire up again - this watch is currently not working

Battery swapped out for a brand new Renata (incl) but still no joy

Watch has not been wet nor has there been any battery leakage - so unsure of the fix - or the reason for its inop

As such being sold as spares or repairs - if you have a spare movement to drop in then you would have very desirable, rare Pular (by Seiko) ana digi watch - a really nice clean piece from the '80's

Too good just to leave in a drawer so one for the collector, restorer/repairer or those looking for a very clean cased donor watch to drop in a working mech

Thanks and happy bidding

How to set on the alarm on a seiko D 409 5030 silver wave

Here are instructions for the watch as a .jpg file...if you press both the "C" and "D" buttons ( refer the attached pic) at the same time you should hear the alarm ring. If it does not it will possibly need checking by a Seiko repair centre ( possibly no parts available though due to age)
Cheers

I need to get a spare bracelet link for a Seiko SMA075. Where is it available? Thank you.

You can get bracelet links for Seiko watches at Coserv, Seiko's main repair center located in New Jersey. The phone number to Coserv is 1-800-722-4452. If for some reason your links are discontinued occasionally a local watch repairman will have spare links! I hope this helps!

Watch band is broken need a new band . unable to find a repair in australia as advised no replacement band are available

These watches appear to be made by Seiko and they have a service center at the address below. Their web site http://www.nike.com/timing/ says that they will repair or replace broke straps if it is within warranty. Is yours in this position. They do not say what happens if it is out of warranty though!

They suggest you ring them before taking any action (like sending it to them).

Early 90's SEIKO 7N43 8A39 mechanical Omaha jewelers say junk - engraved as a gift from my wife - can it be repaired or replaced in this case?

The 7N43 movements are readily available for less than $25 and any jeweler can install them. I own the same watch myself and really like it but after 14 years the date wheel is slipping and its cheaper to replace the whole movement than fix it.
I'd try a different jeweler as obviously yours is trying to sell you a new watch!

I traying to find a band for my watch is metal but i do not know it model it call seiko kinetic SQ 100 it is golden all around with white back ground and it has a calender

You can try Seiko for the band. That band is pretty common in both Seiko current models and after market brands such is Speidel.
There is a 18mm metal band that is almost exact from Bariloche available in some watch repair and accessory stores. You can also check Speidel.
