My Cadence 825 is running on walking speed only when I'm on it but speed up when I'm not stepping the belt. It also makes burring sound when switched on and I can smell burning too. This is a 13 year old seldom used treadmill as it stayed in the storage since we moved house. I have sprayed silicone lubricant when I noticed the slowing speed, but now I'm worried because of the burning smell. I need your feed back please. Thank you.

You actually used the opposite treatment that was needed when you used the lubricant spray. You want the belt to not slip but instead grab to the belt driver. Now, the lube should be removed and instead the powder that causes the belt to grab hold should be applied. You may want to call any treadmill store and ask them what they charge to do a maintenance on a treadmill like yours.

On the rear of walking deck you have the left and right feet. Down the deck is at 0 degree incline, fold them up and you have a 3 degree incline.. You have no incline motor on this model.

Lubricating a treadmill

The only lube required is between the walking belt and the deck. You can get the lube from iconfitness.com. Lift the walking belt and squirt some on the deck from each side, underneath the belt in the area where you usually walk. Walk on it for a few minutes to spread the lube around.

The walking belt slips to the left when walking

There are two allen bolts (one on each side) at the end of the machine. These bolts adjust the tension on the belt. If they are not adjusted evenly the beft will gradually shift of the more loose side.

How do you adjust the belt for a Weslo Cadence 815 treadmill?

Hi, I don't have a manual on your particular treadmill but most all treadmills use the same type of belt tension and tracking, which is an allen screw adjustment on the rear tension bar. One on either side. You should have been provided an allen wrench with your treadmill, if not then use one of your own the proper size. Make the adjustment with the unit running at its slowest speed. Clockwise tightens the tension and will draw the belt. Good Luck, this should Fixya!
