Having trouble using PC Ibspector to recover olympus ds-30 files

The recorder should be formatted only by using the internal FORMAT function found in the Menu. Formatting using the computer may corrupt system files needed to run the recorder and may delete the Voice Guide Data and Audible system files, so computer formatting is not recommended. First things first: DO NOT take any more videos or audio with the recorder that you want to recover files from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of voice memo file recovery.

Then connect your recorder to another PC with a recovery program installed. Photo Recovery Software (also recover Voice memos, audio and video files) is right what you need to use if you are running Windows. If you are Mac OS X users, turn to Data Recovery for Mac.

But you should remember - the more you use your recorder, the less likely you may be able to recover the deleted files back! So STOP using the device ASAP. Good Luck!

The memory is corrupted. You can reformat but that will delete all your files. If you need to recover the files, try PC Inspector Smart Recovery. I have had good success with that. Then you must reformat, or the problem will return. The problem is caused from static shocks to the recorder.

Probably corrupted memory. If you need to recover the files, use PC Inspector Smart Recovery. Otherwise use format to clear the memory, but all data will be lost.

format the recorder through the recorder menu. but they are system files that will not be deleted. they are used by the recorder.

on your computer, you will need some sort of media recovery software. also go to options under the tools menu and uncheck delete after transfer to turn off deletion. this is usually best since you can delete the files through the recorder by the erase button
