I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop with Quanta 30B7 65.27 Motherboard.
What is the maximum RAM I can install and is there a limit to the frequency (MHz) of the SO-DIMM memory I can install?
Thanks for your help.
Ashley
Here are your memory specs...
2 slots equals 2048 mb ram
My hp pavilion dv6220 quanta 30b7 my plate without this audio
I want the audio drive xp ps3
First, check to see if your laptop was recalled by HP:

Here are all the specs:

Im upgrade memory up to 4GB. 2X2GB.
9 years late, wow, a new record here.
most DV laptops the CCFL lamps burned out 5 years ago, so is a wasted effort to upgrade any rotten stinking HP DV series ever , here is the stinking list. here.
avoid these. all have CCFL LCD BACK LAMPS
and stink to own for sure now !

Quanta of Twain made that motherboard for HP
under contract, so is not supported at all by them only HP had support, long ago. on it.
so...
worse yet DV6000 is a series (HP retired support)! 6000 is not a PRODUCT but 6001 is.
the OP never posted his full service tag
I see googling HP Pavilion dv6227cl laptop uses this 30b7. see that is a real PC model... just one of 50 or more, used world wide,
HP makes motherboard by feature and country laws and options so vast models exit.
spend 5 minutes and the HP parts surfer and learn this.
showing which of 50 more more motherboards are inside (the nnnnnnABA# ) model number not told
the mhz is minimum not a max.(on sticks ddr)
so you can run faster DDR but will not run faster
this is negotiated by BIOS. (hard fast rules)
memory spec's are not simple./
form factor
speed.. class
voltage.
access time limits. CL spec.
max per slot.
max per system.
and memory density limits, (ask what that means!)
why not go to kingston.com and ask them for max.
let them match you up and with warranty.
or at crucial.com the top 2 makers of DDR.
after market sales.
the the OS limit, no OS stated
but 32bit will be limited around 3.5GB
the limit is reduced from 4GB by your GPU chip opted day one new, (service tag not told )
the dv6000t (the t has different spec)
so no full service tag ,. gets you nowhere.
kingston ended support
crucial has 2x1gb.
Crucial 1GB DDR2-667 SODIMM
CT12864AC667
Configuration ID: CT727725
DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128MEG X 64 •
that list bit at end is DENSITY./!
see them all here. this is ONLY USA list.
the are not all the same, for sure.
the tango (xxxxxxxxxT)version and more.
