MAJOR power surge at home now the set won't come on. Found a blown fuse and replaced it but it blew again right away. Can anyone please help me? Thank You.
If ever the fuse is blown like that, you have a major short on the circuitry. Check first the rectifier diode a by-passing one diode can do this. Also the chopper component may it is a transistor, FET, or regulator IC. Also check the main filter capacitor, shunt resistor.
If ever, you can isolate first the secondary circuit. To troubleshoot first the power supply side. You have to have at least an standby power.
Check the power supply transformer primary driver transistor and the associated components (some diodes and capacitors, resistors, an optocoupler maybe) and the rectifier diodes (or a bridge) and capacitors at the transformer secondary, what you are looking for is a short circuit, however, the short may as well be in another section of the circuit board (a shorted component may sometimes have signs of damage caused by heat, but this is not a rule).
Hope you can find out what it is...
