Ultra violet light not working

If you purchased it before 2008, nobody. Sharper image went bankrupt and was bought by another co who does NOT warranty or repair older products. Below is excerpt from their site:

Unfortunately, there are no repair depots that are available for use since Sharp Image has claimed bankruptcy. these product are very unique in design and, the actual repair parts are no longer in stock. the suppliers went under when Sharp filed for bankruptcy.

You may be able to repair the wiring by ordering the identical gauge from you local electrician but, that's about it. most of the hardware is no longer available.

This unit can be replaced on ebay for around $45.00 which is under any labor cost to repair the unit you currently have. You can always post your unit for sale on ebay for parts.

I've heard if the plates aren't working, it doesn't turn on.

Now for the disclaimer:

Sharper Image has recalled the units. Consumer Reports released a report on all ionizers and the quadra failed. Sharper Image tried to sue Consumer Reports over the findings but they couldn't prove that the unit cleaned the air. Sharper Image was ordered to pay all legal fees forcing the company into Chapter 11.

EPA data has proven that ionizers not only are ineffective at cleaning the air but they are harmful to use as well. EPA.gov has a report on it.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to release a report on all ionizers. It's possible that they will no longer be for sale in the U.S. next year.

Sharper Image also recalled the ionizers for $35. Since there in bankruptcy now I don't think the program is no longer available.

If the warranty you are counting on is a Sharper Image Warranty I need to advise you that it was voided in the buyout on 30 May, 2008 when everything at Sharper Image was liquidated by Hilco Consumer Capital, Gordon Brothers, and Bluestar Alliance. If however it was a warranty company outside of Sharper Image you need to contact them.

You can purchase a bulb for the GP on ebay for under $11, which is really a good price considering what you would have paid from Sharper Image. Installation is easy, you just pull up on the tab on the bottom of the filter and pull up. When you are looking at the bulb, turn it 1/4 turn, (2 clicks) and pull it out. That is all there is to it. Sharper Image ionizers are no longer being serviced. What got them into trouble in the first place was the fact that they were not cleaning the air and that the air they were filtering was hazardous some peoples health. This was based on data by Consumer Reports as well as the EPA. They went to court on it and they lost.

Sharper Image was offering a rebate to people who had purchased ionizers.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to be making a decision on ionizers by the end of the year. It could be that they will no longer be sold in the US next year since they are ineffective and can cause health problems.

This is an industry that should have been regulated years ago just by EPA data alone. The idea that charging the air around you gets rid of stuff is a joke. In the copier industry that I work in we are told that it is bad since copiers create ozones in the same way.

Sharper Image no longer supports Ionic Breeze machines. They recalled them a few months back since Consumer Reports and the EPA has determined that they weren't working and can even cause health hazards during usage. Sharper Image sued an lost forcing the company in bankruptcy.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to make a decision on sales of all ionizers in the U.S. by the end of the year. It's looking like you won't be seeing these around much longer.
