Are you sure it's dead? Often times, if the battery is allowed to become completely depleted, it will not accept a charge via cigar charger. Connect the GPS overnight to your computer via the USB cable, then see if the battery took the charge. If by chance the battery will no longer accept a charge, contact Garmin Customer Support below:

Nuvi 750 battery will not hold a charge. Unit works fine if plugged into the auto power. What might the problem be? What is the estimated cost of repair.

Sounds like you just have a dead/bad battery.

You can check to see if your device was included in a recent battery-related recall here:

If your unit is not included in the recall and you are (or a friend is) handy, you can buy a replacement on the net and replace it yourself for around $25 (US Dollars):

(There are other sources for the battery, I do know if the linked company is trustworthy.)

I'm not sure what Garmin charges for this type of service?

When pluggin to the car charger and turn it on. it's a low battery and it keeps turning off. it doesn't charge. garmin nuvi 750.

the battery is defective and needs to be replaced, if the battery is not any good then it won't work even when plugged to an outside power source, that is how this are set up, the battery is not user servicable, u must send it back to Garmin for replacement.

My garmin nuvi 750 won't turn on when it is unplugged.. It is charged. It will turn on if I have it connected in the car.

Most likely a defective battery. How do you know it is charged? If the battery is bad, you can have it on the charger for 5 years and it won't charge a dead battery.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 750. It went dead suddenly.

THERES A GOOD CHANCE THAT THE CABLE IS DAMAGED OR EVEN WORST THE CONNECTOR WITHIN THE UNIT IS DAMAGED OR BROKEN. TRY USING THE OTHER CABLE IE THE CAR TO UNIT CABLE OR THE USB TO UNIT CABLE IF EITHER ONE WORKS THE OTHER IS DEFECTIVE, IF NONE OF THEM WORK THERE GOES TROUBLE.

Most people will send it back to Garmin for replacement (expensive).. I have replaced many batteries on Nuvi's, although never on a 750. I'm sure it would not be that difficult for me to do so.

Garmin 750 - 90 days old

Had the same problem-try this- leave your nuvi off for about 4 hours. Push the power button to the right(lock position) and then to the left (power on position) and let go. I suspect temperature (getting overheated is the problem. This worked for me.
