It sounds like there may be an issue with the onboard flash memory on your printer. Try performing a factory reset (hold down the pause and cancel buttons during startup) to see if that clears the problem. If not, you may need to contact Zebra customer support for further assistance.
lucie_dibble: Maybe this is a electronic mainboard problem, try a printer reset pressing and holding PAUSE and FEED buttons then turn on printer, release buttons until all leds turn off. If this not work then replace the mainboard.
After you calibrate the printer. Press feed a few times. If it feeds a single label each time, then the calibration was successful.Power off and on while holding the cancel button. (config printout). Keep config for reference. Send label print from computer. If it does not work, then check that the printer driver matches the config printout. The computer printer driver will change and overide the settings in the printer
load the paper and the Ribbon CORRECLY, check if the ribbon is not on top of the label sensors and gap sensors.
run manual calibration, press the last button until flash 3 times (to save), turn printer off, and on again.
If presist, download the correct driver (www.seagullscientific.com) run Reset to Factory Defult) from this driver.
You can try to factory default by turning the printer off, hold down the pause and the feed buttons. While holding pause and feed down turn on the printer and count to 5 and then release the 2 buttons and the printer will return to factory setting. Typicaly when all the lights stay lit its do to the logic board being bad but sometimes you can get lucky with the default.
Simply press the PAUSE button then press CANCEL. If you have sent a batch of 500 labels, though, you will have to press CANCEL 500 times. I usually just turn the printer off, cancel the job in the printer driver status box, then wait for all of the error messages to pop up.
I had this happen when I changed from one label to a different size label. It needs to be calibrated. There are several types of calibration to do to the S600. Here is the solution that worked for me.
Check the position of the laser Media Sensor (figure 13).It may need to be moved to match the type of label that will be printed.
For CARD labels, the media sensor needs to be set at the edge of the card so it can “see through” the notch that is cut on the edge where the perforation is.
For STICKY labels, it can “see through” the backing which shows between each sticky label, so the Media Sensor could be set anywhere for it to work, but will probably be set towards the middle.
Set to Factory Defaults. This is so that all of the following steps will work.I do not need to change the steps based on the type of mode that printer is set up in because it will erase all that by setting it to the factory default. (See figure 14 for buttons)
Turn off the printer.
Hold the FEED and PAUSE buttons down as the printer power is turned on.
Press MODE button four times.
When the defaults are saved to the printer, the CALIBRATE, DARKER, and POSITION lights will all flash.
Test to see if the calibration is set correctly for the label. If not, proceed to the following steps.
Do a Manual Calibration.
Turn off the printer.
Hold the PAUSE, FEED, and CANCEL buttons down as the printer power is turned on, keeping the buttons depressed.
This will run through several labels and do some printing.
Release all three buttons after the CALIBRATION light comes on and then goes back off.
Put the printer into Auto-Calibration Mode.
Turn off the printer.
Hold PAUSE, CANCEL, and MODE down as the printer power is turned on.
