We have just moved into this house which has a pre Aga takeover Leisure (rangemaster) 5 ring electric cooker which functions. The glass on the oven door needs to be properly repositioned by a qualified engineer. We need a new grill pan and the calibration figures on the controls have worn off. Is this worth repairing? If so, can you assist in finding qualified engineers who understand these cookers and able to obtain parts? I live in West Cheshire between Chester and Nantwich. Looking forward to your comments. Thank you. Robert Ziman

i am sorry for you, but you can forget repairing the timer.
You can replace it of course.
You do not need the timer to operate the oven.
For that you need to bypass the timer. The clock will stay working normally.
Although the 55 is smaller then the 110, the working of the clock should be the same.
Net link will give you more information and I hope you will fin the solution there.
Kind regards and a good weekend, Dik

Non compliance of a product is usually because the Gas Board, Gas Regulators, Government Agency, etc have determined that the unit is unsafe to use under certain conditions. I have no idea why yours doesnt comply but it would be something to do with safe operation. In Australia for instance, any gas appliance sold here, must meet AGA requirements and have an AGA Approval decal on it with an authority number. The oven you have probably doesnt carry a Government approval and this would make it illegal for a Gas Tech to instal it. I would suggest you contact the supplier for more information. It is strange though that they would be allowed to sell a unit that doesnt comply.
Hi there folks It also happened to me, so after ringing rangemaster they said it can happen due to faults in the glass, unfortunately my warranity had run out and they wanted t charge a fortune to repair. so i had a look inside the door my self which is only four screws on the sides to remove the outer skin to find it was a single piece of ordinary toughend glass about 300mm x 300mm fixed in place with six clips like the ones you find one those glass picture frames, i got a new piece from me local glass merchants for less than £10 and it took only mins to fix job done, I hope this help someone and it my save you quite a bit of cash Cheers folks Markbricky
the part that you need is the oven ignitor, located nest to the oven burner. that part gets hot to open the gas to the burner, that will make the oven work again.
I have the just moved to a house with this same oven. I can't find the exact manual online, but the timer/clock seem to work the same as this one.. http://www.leisurecp.co.uk/upl/15858-GR6CV.pdf
It sounds exactly the same as I am experiencing on my oven of the same model. My theory is that the full flame gas is controlled by a thermostat, and that this has broken hence why the oven only stays on preheat. This will be a matter of a replacement part. Most likely the thermostat is a bi-metal strip that, because it has heated and cooled so many times in it's life it has simply finally given up. Try searching online for the correct part and get a corgi registered fitter or another suitably qualified fitter to come and replace it.
