You need to replace the timer if it is stopping the dryer before the end of the cycle.

My roper dryer works fine, it heats and the timer advances, it just wont shut off at the the end of a timed dry or auto dry. What do you think?

A timed drying cycle uses the timer alone to stop the drying cycle. Once it times out like an egg timer a set of contacts open up shutting off the dryer. Or a set of contacts closes to activate a relay which in turn shuts off the power.
Auto dry usually uses a moisture sensor which would do the same thing as the timer. Once it doesnt sense moisture in the load for a predetermined time it in turn triggers a relay which shuts the power off. Some auto dry cycles just use the timer alone and guess-timate the drying time by the selection.
If yours does not use a moisture sensor then most likely it is your timer/cycle switch. There may or may not be a relay involved.
Most dryers have a basic wiring diagram on the inside somewhere on one of the panels which will help.
Since yours is acting up on both cycles Im guessing you have a bad relay or connection to that relay somewhere IF it uses a moisture sensor.

After dryer shuts off, timer continues to run. Kenmore model #110.86181810, part # I think is 692032 and sears says it is no longer in stock. Anyone still have one?

I assume you're talking about the buzzer. Many high end dryers do that until you remove the clothes. heated clothes can set wrinkles if kept in the same position for a long time. it's a feature, not a problem, unless it keeps buzzing after you remove the dried clothes!

Kenmore 110.60812990 will not stop

if it's not advacing in time dry you have a bad timer, that timer should count down no matter what the dryer is doing,if you have it in auto then it could be no heat, when it's in auto or more or less cycle the heat comes on and the timer won't move until the heat shuts down, when the heat is off timer advances, when the heat starts the timer stops,it will do this until the clothes are dry and then timer will shut off but in timed cycle, timer isn't counting down get a new timer.

Maytag model med 5770. when using sensor cycle the clothes dry but the timer does not shut the dryer off. The timer works in other cycles. Could this be the moisture sensor malfunctioning

It could be,, moisture is caused when a dryer can't vent properly,, so clean out all the vent lines from the machine, and include the outside vent cover

Electric Dryer

is there enough heat? should be about 160 ^ f drying sensor can only be one of two things, make sure you didn't change wires when you reinstalled it or the timer is bad. may have multiple problems.
