Clean filter at the bottom there should be a plastic flap at the bottom at the front of the machine wash it out and then put a wash on with nothing in it on a 95 wash.

The washing machine smells like rotten eggs on the rinse cycle. The clothes also smell afterwards as well. What can I do to resolve this?

Rotten egg stench is caused by sulphur content in the water or building up over time in your water heater. It can also build in a water system that is rarely run. Have you noticed this smell from other taps in your house? There are inline charcoal filters that can remove it from the water, or you can also try removing the water lines from the washer and running them awhile.

Is this new, or has it been happening for awhile?

I wash the DW with finish DW cleaner. All items smell rotten eggs

Try running a wash with a couple of caps of baby sterilising fluid. If the d/w is connected directly to the sink, remove the spigot and check there aren't any blockages. I run a dishwasher cleaner thru my d/w every 3 months and every couple of week I will load the machine for a wash, add tab to dispenser and just after starting a 65 degree wash, I will open the door and tip in approx one capful of sterilising fluid.
Good luck
baby fluid also good as a sluice wash for your washing machine on 90 degrees (w/m empty, approx every 4 weeks).

Terrible smell during washing cycle!

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old
man who has been making his own repairs for about
50 years. Therefore the washer ID doesn't mean
much to me. It's been about 55 years since I had
experience with front load washers. However I can
suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where
they have very good trouble shooting and repair
information on front loaders. I think you'll find what
you need there. Good luck with it.

BOSCH DW burned plastic smell, common problem?

Hello,
I have this exact same smell issue from the back black panel at rear of dishwasher (free standing so easy to pinpoint. I replaced the old bosch with this Bosch (approx 12 months ago) for the same reason, and am extremely disappointed to have the same issue. It is almost as though the black insulation material is disintegrating? I wonder what it is made from? Smells noxious. It is very hot to touch during a cycle too. Good luck,
Fiona

A mold smell from my washing machine

IMPORTANT: Read thoroughly. DO NOT add detergent or other laundry products to this cycle.
1. Remove all items from the washer.
2. Open the dispenser drawer and 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. DO NOT use more than 2/3 cup (160mL) of bleach per cycle as this will lead to product damage.
3. Close the washer door and dispenser drawer.
4. Select the Clean Washer cycle or a full wash cotton 104 F wash (40 C). DO NOT use any higher temperature as this will cause unnecessary fumes
5. Press Start and allow cycle to complete.
6. If the bad odour persists, repeat the procedure 1 or 2 more times. This may be necessary if this is the first time you have run this cycle.
7. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
8. Repeat the cleaning procedure monthly.
To maintain the washer freshness:
1. Use only HE High Efficiency detergent.
2. Leave the door open after each cycle to for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
3. Use warm / hot water in your machine unless the fabric you are washing requires cold.
4. Use the correct amount of fabric softener.
5. If your laundry room is damp, use a dehumidifier.
6. Clean the door seal of visible residue.

Rotten Egg Smell

Make sure the rubber door gasket is clean. Pull it back and clean under and around it. The gasket will collect dirt and begin to mildew causing various odors. Run the machine empty, boil a medium pot of water to almost boiling, then put it in the machine during the wash cycle. This will help clean the lines, during the rinse cycle place a 1/2 cup of vinegar in the unit. Make sure you are using HE detergent. 1-2 tablespoons will due. If your using liquid fabric softner, dilute it by half. These machine use less water than a typical top loader and can't dissolve regular detergent effectively. There by causing your lines to get clogged with gunk.

Cant find my filter o a hotpoint first edition

i cant find the filter on my aquarius either, but i just read somewhere that this egg smell is probably caused by u mostly running the machine on cool washes i.e 40' ? so its suggests u run the machine on a 95' empty wash using ure normal detergent 2-3 times a year as the smell is a build up of bacteria because your washes arent hot enuff to kill it. If ure egg smell is bad, i'd do the empty hot wash thing a couple of times to make sure ! hope this makes sense?! :)
