Hotpoint Aquarius WD640 Washer Dryer

Every time I try to use my machine on any cycle the work test comes up on my display screen. How do I turn off the test mode?

  • Anonymous Dec 29, 2007

the test mode is on but despite trying to press the buttons together for 10 seconds to clear it, the wash programme does not come on and the machine reverts to test

  • JKGA Jan 09, 2008

Whichever programme I turn the machine to, as soon as I press start the display changes to 'Test', works through the cycle perfectly, dry, and very quickly. It then stops, clicks the door lock off, then starts up all over againg, on test.

How can I get out of this and start to wash?

I had a similar experience.  I had to try a few times - it has to be EXACTLY together and then the magic "doff" shall appear and save the world.

Your test mode is on, maybe accidently. Press "start", "cancel" OR "on" & "off" together for 10 secs, you will see d/off come on the display. Do the same & the test mode comes on again.

I have somehow managed to put my hotpoint aquarius into test mode

To get out of it you need to press start, the display should go daft. Press start again and the display should settle down. Now press the on/off button and the start button at the same time and hold them down for a few seconds until the display shows d-end or d-off.

F13 error during drying cycle

Hi, that indicates that either the fan motor is not working/ blocked or the dryer thermistor (thermostatic sensor) is playing up. Of course, the pcb reads the sensor so it could also be that causing the error.

Where do i Find the heating element on my wd640 washer dryer

on top of the drum there is a metal dryer box. the heating element is connected by 2 wires.
it maybe that a build up of lint has tripped your thermal wire out or the thermistor,(you will have to test the continuity).

'test' displayed on washing machine

After pressing different buttons and waiting 10 to 15 seconds after turning the power off, I have finally found the solution.
When you have pressed the "Start/Cancel" button to start your wash programme the LCD shows "test".
You must then press the "Start/Cancel" button which will give you the normal temperature and washing time and then importantly you must depress both the "Start/Cancel" button with the "On/Off" button which will give you a different LCD message and then it will automatically resets itself.

ALL THE BEST!
