Resetting the Ink Counter When an ink tank is replaced, the ink counter must be reset. The low ink warning is only displayed properly if the ink counter is reset.

Message Prompting Confirmation of Ink Tank Replacement
If an ink tank is removed, the printer will output a message prompting you to confirm replacement of the ink tank at the start of the next print job.
When an ink tank has been replaced, follow the procedure below to reset the ink counter. The low ink warning is only displayed properly if the ink counter is reset.
Important
If infrared communication is performed in Windows XP or Windows 2000, the printer will not output the message asking for confirmation of ink tank replacement.
Reset the ink counter from the printer driver when you replace the ink tank.

1 Check the message, and click Yes.

Note
Mistakenly clicking No instead, will prevent the low ink warning from functioning properly. If this happens, be sure to open the driver's Properties dialog box and manually reset the ink tank counter in the Maintenance tab.

2 Select the replaced ink tank, and click OK.
The dialog box allows you to select the replaced ink tank.
When both black and color ink tanks have been replaced, select both Black and Color.
If you have not replaced the ink tank with a new one, click Cancel.

Resetting the Ink Counter in Printer Properties dialog box

1 Open the Printer Properties dialog box and click the Maintenance tab.
2 Click Ink Counter Reset.
3 Select the newly installed ink tank, then click OK.

Try to do the Deep Clean Printhead function on your printer. On the printer touchscreen, touch Ink Levels > More Options > Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't help, please contact the Lexmark Technical Support Center or point your browser to http://bit.ly/lFKDzs for online technical assistance.

Only colours are printing no black, all inks just replaced newly replaced black ink does not print despite several cleaning

Sounds like the black color lines (the "cables" between print head and cartridges) either have clogged ink in them, or air bubbles. Try the cleaning process found by pressing Ink Management and then Menu/Set twice. After the test print sheet is printed, answer the question(s) in the display and print up to five test prints by answering the questions.
It should solve the problem, but if it doesn't, you should perform a heavier duty purge found in the service mode.

Hp 2610 will not print black even with new cartridge. HELP

Try cleaning the gold contacts on cart first, with distilled water. Let dry and try again.
If not, try this one
1.Try placing sheet of black text on copy board, and run many copies black only. I ran 25x12 times still no black. Run head clean after about each 50 sheets. Persevered and finally BLACK ink OK

Printer will not print black ink

Seems to be a common fault with Kodak EasyShare 5100/5300

Contact Kodak Support and go though the following tests:

Remove and re-seat Printer Cartridge(s) - Done

Clean Printhead - Done

Calibrate Printer - Test Sheet Not Complete!

Run Computer Colour Test - Done

They will then send you a new Print Head.

Black Won't Print On MFC 420 CN

Use another new genuine (original brother) BK cart. Do the cleaning twice only for BK. Wait some time (4 hours). If the ink has dryed up, the cleaning ink will break up the dryed one. Do the cleaning again. If it doesnt work, please write again.
