Please help as this is driving my missus mad which in turn is causing me an ear ache.....appears this is MY fault....please help!

How to change lower element in DeLonghi Airstream Convectio Oven

  • How to change lower element in DeLonghi Airstream Convectio Oven??

  • Preheat ovens only when necessary. With conventional ovens, keep the preheating time to a minimum. Unless you're baking breads or pastries, you may not need to preheat the oven at all.
  • Food cooks more quickly and efficiently in ovens when air can circulate freely. Don't lay foils on racks. If possible, stagger pans on upper and lower racks to improve air flow.
  • Use glass or ceramic pans in ovens. You can turn down the temperature about 25°F and cook foods just as quickly.
  • Do not open the oven door often to preview the food. Each time you open the door the oven temperature drops by 25°F. Watch the clock or use a timer instead.
  • Full-size ovens are not very efficient for cooking small- to medium-sized meals, it generally pays to use toaster ovens or microwave ovens.
  • Check to be sure the oven door gasket is tight. Adjust or replace gaskets as required.
  • If you have a self-cleaning oven, consider using the self-cleaning feature immediately after regular baking when the oven is still hot. Less energy will be required to reach the cleaning temperature. Try not to use the self-cleaning feature too often.
  • Keep range-top burners and reflectors clean; they will reflect the heat better and save energy.
  • Match the size of the pan to the heating element; more heat will get to the pan and less will be lost to the surrounding air. A 6-inch pan on a 8-inch burner will waste over 40% of the energy.
  • On electric stove-tops, use only flat-bottomed pans that make full contact with the element. A warped or rounded pan will waste most of the heat.
  • When cooking with a gas range-top burner, use moderate flame settings to conserve gas. Also make sure the pilot light is burning efficiently, with a blue flame. A yellowish flame indicates an adjustment is needed because the gas is burning inefficiently.
  • Whenever possible, use a pressure cooker. By cooking food at a higher temperature and pressure, cooking time is reduced dramatically and energy use is cut by 50-75%.

We have a Westinghouse Polaris free standing oven and the door does not seal properly, huge waste of money heating the oven to have theheat escape! grrrrr ! can the door be adjusted to close properly?

this is usally one of two things the metal is stressed at the point where the hindges go into the stove remove door and flatten with a piece of wood and a hammer only if you can see the metal is bowed out, also the actual hindges may be worn and have exccessive play in them

Here is a list of oven error codes for your model Kenmore oven.
    1. F0 indicates a Stuck key pad.
    2. F1 and F7 may mean relay is turned on.
    3. F2 indicates that the oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either cooking or cleaning mode of operation. The control is sensing over 615 degrees with the door lock circuit in the unlock mode. Control senses oven temperature above 915 degrees with the door in the locked mode.
    4. F3 and F4 indicates an open or shorted oven sensor or sensor circuit.
    5. F5 indicates a loss of relay drive circuit.

If the display of your control is flashing "F" followed by a number or letter its a range malfunction. Press the clear/off pad. Let the range cool for 1 hour and place the range back into operation.
If the problem repeats, call for service.

How do i put the oven door back on after i removed it to obtain measurements. now i can not get the door back on

I had the same problem today I found that you have to extend the hindge enough to have the lock tabs lock into the door to hold the hindge in the extend mode. If the tabs are not back in the door it will continue to snap back. After you lay the door in place be sure to extend the lock tabs back up into the oven side towards the pins that you hindge lay on. Oven door isn't closed tightly on both sides.

If it is a door that lifts up and down, then the only solution is to replace both door hinges, as they are not normally adjustable, it is the springs that are weak.
    Plz rate my solution.
    Thanks.

Kenmore oven model# 790.79383401 door not closing

Do the hinges come out with the door or does the door slip off the hinges? If the hinges are on the door then there is no adjustment if not there should be an adjustment but you may have to pull the range out to properly adjust if it is a built in range. Also check the door lock.
