If you enter the "Clean mode" then wait for between 2- 2 1/2 hours the lock mechanism should release. I'm not precisely sure of the time allotment. Use caution, the oven gets very hot and could cause you bodily harm. Thank you, Dana

Hi, my mother has a Schott Ceran induction hob. It's very good but occasionally randomly locks itself and we cannot find a manual to tell us how to unlock it or locate the model number.

The reference to Schott is the maker of the ceramic glass. The label identifying which brand and model number will be located on the base of the cooktop.

If the cooktop itself randomly locks itself, it would most likely be related to the touch panel and the sensor plate that would require replacement.

The lock would be the child lock, and usually holding down the key symbols for a period of 5 secs should remove the lock.

Hello, i cannot turn the child lock off on my stovetop. this is a brand new problem as i do know how to normally turn the lock off.

Not sure if this is for your exact model but here is a link to an Online User's Manual for one similar:

http://www.kitchenaid.com/assets/pdfs/product/ZUSECARE/KECC508RPS_Use%20and%20Care_EN.pdf

Just click on the link (underlined and highlighted text) with your mouse and a new browser window will automatically open to show you the information in the manual.

On page 7, it reads as follows:

To Lock Cooktop: Touch and hold the CONTROL LOCK/
ALL OFF keypad for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, CONTROL
LOCK will glow red, indicating that the cooktop touch controls
are in the lockout position.

To Unlock Cooktop: Touch and hold the CONTROL LOCK/
ALL OFF keypad for 5 seconds.

If you have any questions or require further assistance just comment back to this page and I will endeavour to help.

Good luck and please click on the 4 Thumbs Up rating icon if this was at all helpful.

Thank you very much.

Joe.

Hey, what can I do if on a ceramic hob there is no error message but a letter "L" at each section? The control buttons don't respond I only can switch off and on again but nothing happens. Please...

Hi,

You've probably accidentally activated the child-lock "L". It would help to know which model you have as the deactivation method can vary on different models. However, this is the process for activation or deactivation on the EKI-848 which looks like the one in the above picture:

Switching off the childproof lock

1. Press the ON key.

2. Then immediately press the Plus key of the cooking zone at the left-back and the Minus key of the cooking zone at the right-back simultaneously.

3. Then press the Minus key in order to deactivate the childproof lock. The "L" will go off.

If this doesn't work or you have a different model, please post back and I will let you know the correct deactivation method for your model.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

BElectric
