Laptop My copmuter is 4 years old, an Acer. Before the warrenty ran out 2 years ago, it was telling me to switch over to an A/C outlet, and I was already on an A/C outlet. I sent it in to tigerdirect, they fixed the problem, and I upgrade my laptop about a year and a 1/2 ago. It is now doing exactly the same thing again. I'm plugged in to the wall, it lasts about 20 minutes before shutting down to recharge.

    yes even when the computer is plugged in to the wall, it goes in to hibernate. I turn it on again, and it starts charging. All of this while it is plugged in.

2. If needed, clean it with a hard brush and vacuum cleaner.
3. Check if the fan is rotating, if not replace the fan unit.

Acer Aspire 5738Z won't hold charge

Sorry. It seems that your battery is dead.
If your laptop is working fine on AC power only (with the battery disconnected), then your battery will need to be replaced.

Acer 5920 wont turn on, we bought an extended

This is a common problem with Acers but usually it is the battery and the adapter. Replace the battery as well as the adapter and you shouldn't have any issues. Surges can be the main cause for this or running the laptop hot has also been the culprit.

Laptop Mousepad and Keyboard stuttering, slow

This may be a battery power monitor issue. Try disabling the "Mircosoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery" device. This is located in Control Panel-->System-->Hardware Tab-->Device Manager-->Batteries. Had similar problem with 2 Acer Aspire series laptops (diff models). 2 and 3 year old. Original batteries (both still hold charges for 1.5 hrs of normal usage). Running WinXP, one with SP2 and other had SP3. Both came in the last month with slow jerky TPAD function and nearly non responsive keyboard access. Checked the usual; virus, spyware, hijacking, driver conflict etc. Cloned drive and factory installed..still same problem with kb & mouse. However an external USB keyboard and mouse functioned normally (no lag). Noticed with Battery removed kb & mouse was normal. Finally found disabling ACPI control battery device resolved this issue while allowing laptop to run on either battery or AC.

Network my desktop with my laptop

Internet -> Port 1 or 16 ComputerA -> Port 2 ComputerB -> Port 3
I say port 1 or 16 because on older equipment there is an uplink port that is usually either the lowest or highest port number depending on the manufacturer. Set both computers IP addresses to use DHCP in this scenario. If you aren't connecting to the internet, both computers need to have their ip address set manually to a number in the same "neighborhood" (i.e. set A to 192.168.1.2 and set B to 192.168.1.3), then they will see each other.

My Tv just started doing the same problem

Sounds like the On/Off sitch is bad to me. Be Calm my friend these things happen in life. No point in becoming angry over it. The fact is it was probably the least expensive set on the shelf when you bought it. It came with a warrenty as do the other brands And, this sort of problem can happen to ANY brand of television. That's why you get a warrenty. Also, you could have bought an extended warrenty which would have cost you more than the repair job you need for your tv. Call 18002427158 press 1 be preparred to hold about 4 or 5 minutes and ask them for a service tech in your area. I would think that this should be repairable for about $35-$55 OR look in your yellow pages and take it to any TV reapair shop in your neighborhood. Don't worry, BE HAPPY!!!! Don't forget now, very soon, if you don't have cable or satelite you will need a new tv anyway. The nation is going Digital! WOO HOOO!!!! Have a great day! Symphonic tv's are ok. I have had a 27" here for 13 years now still plays great! Although, my 6 year old Symphonic just pooped the bed. But, that's ok cause I can fix it!
