This is a brand new machine from a retail store. When I run the machine, it will brew coffee into the pot, and then beep. But the filter is still full of water and the pot is only half full. I can pull out the filter, but the water remains.
I ran it the first time with water only (and a paper filter), like the instructions said to do, and had the same problem. I had to actually turn the coffee maker upside down and drain out the water. Now that I made coffee in it, and it did it again, I'm not quite sure how to get the "coffee water" out of there!
Thanks,
Barbara

These macines have an internal water heater that should be clened periodicly (monthly per manufacturers instructions but I do it quarterly/semianually/when it gets noisy :) ). The machine will have to be disasembled to do this since the tank will have to be flushed when you do this to get the chemicals out of it (vs running a pot of vinegar through your Mr. Coffee machine at home), Depending on how much scale has built up in the tank this could take several cleaninings. Scale deposits can over time impair/damage the heater or thermostat but replacement parts are cheaper than a new machine and the machine will outlast and outperform a standard coffee maker. BTW, my 8572 3 burner was built in 1972, I bought it at a flee market for $25 10 years ago put $100 in parts to get the push to brew and hot water on tap working again and it made two great pots of coffee this morning.
If anyone is looking for the Kenmore Coffee Water Filter model 69768 - Sears / Kmart re-branded the filter under the Cuisinart name making them near impossible to find under the Kenmore name. HERE is the link to order them under the Cuisinart name at SEARS (its the EXACT same filter and they come 2 to a pack)
