I have a Philco Classic ... the turntable did not work. I pulled the arm back, as suggested, and it worked! But it really drags when I try to play an LP. What now?

What do you mean it drags? I noticed if you don't pull the arm back far enough,it will turn on,but the arm will drag foward scratching your record. Try pulling it bacl ALL the way and then it should give you no problems.

On my Philco Turntable CD with cassette the CD player does not close all the way. If you manually close it, it does not play

You are describing too problems, won't close all the way, could be a bad loadind belt. the second issue it will not play, the timing gear is out of sync, or the laser pickup is not functioning, you will need to take it to a service shop for assessment.

The turntable on my philco cd cassette and turntable unit does not turn. how to i access the belt, etc. to see whats wrong?

I had a similar issue with my Crosley turntable that I recently picked up... and after digging up the manual online all I had to do was lift up on the tone arm and move it to the right (past the holding mechanism) until it clicked, and voila, the turntable started spinning again.

I hope this helps!

Philco 841.205 Turntable Issues

I take it that it doesn't turn? OK two choices for you. Faulty motor, or a on/off switch that doesn't work. If you have to move the arm to start the turntable then some kind of leaver switch is either bent or broken.
I should imagine this model uses no more than a 12 volt motor. If you have no look with the switch, find the motor and take it out. Then stick a 9 volt battery on it, or lower voltage if it's only 6 volt motor. If it don't go it's bust!

just find a local electronic repair shop near you
look in the phone book for electronic /electronic repar shop
i have had to repair these before and the selector chip has failed because of a resistor letting to much current and voltage go into the chip , repair cost $40-$50 depending on the dammage

Philco turntable CD with cassette

Most of these are blet driven and the belt is probably slipping. This is a relatively simple repair if you have the correct belt. I'm in Massachusetts, so I don't have any particular recommendations for you. The belt will cost around $10.

Philco 841.205 TurnTable spring and plastic armature pulled off HELP

Well it turned out that that 45 degree plastic piece DID or WAS attached to the main post. It snapped off. I super glued it back on and to each side of that very flimzy broken plastic I cut two very small pieces of wood (using popsicle sticks) and super glued THOSE to either side of the broken armature piece. Once dried I re-attached the spring and it worksd like a charm.
