I have a coin-operated Maytag commercial front loader in which the main motor won't run, but no diagnostic codes come up. I've gone into diagnostic mode and run several of the diagnostic cycles. The hot & cold solenoids work OK, the pump runs when required and the cycles run to completion, but the main drum motor never starts - and no error codes are produced. I would have expected at least the "main motor speed error" code.
While the cycles were running I had the rear cover off. The main drive belt is in place and OK, the drum, belt and motor can be rotated by hand and move smoothly. Couldn't find any sign of a motor thermal overload that may have needed manuall resetting. Any one got any ideas? Any help much appreciated. Ian from Australia.
Did you try to ohm the motor,
term. 1,2,3 6-7.5 ohm term.4,5 155-195
if not, harness or motor
check for 120v at the power leads to motor control board
if not, door switch? other
external power cord to power connector
should spin drum @ 50 rpm
if not,probable control board
Its whats called the 'WAX door lock motor' it's a small, brown device that drives across the door lock pin "very slowly" at the start of the wash thus making contact with the door locked microswitch. replace the motor!
Please check microswitch block door/ Best result change this microswitch on the new. If terminal is shot - longered on wire.

Hi Guys,
Anyone want to have a go at this one? Surely one of you American gurus can help out a simple Aussie on this? Or are you all still too upset because we flogged ya and took away the America's Cup back in '83?...
