The battery in the film pack may be dead, or the camera is broken. Take the film pack out and replace it. If the camera does not reset then the camera is gone.

What kind of camera, and film, did you buy? Polaroid discontinued production of film in 2006, and the only remaining film is old stock, or available from the impossible project. There are other types of film available, but not compatable with all types of polaroid cameras. This information will have a HUGE impact on the solution to your problem.

1) Type of camera (not just Polaroid, they made HUNDREDS of models)
2) Type/Size/Brand of film

Polaroid 600 was dropped and now won't close, where can i get it repaired in NYC?

Unfortunately, most Polaroid cameras were not really built to be repaired. They're mostly all plastic with no way to get into them to repair anything aside from rollers, without destroying the camera. And, with Polaroid going bankrupt several years back, parts are now nonexistent anywhere but the 2nd hand market. The good news, these cameras can be had on ebay and other sources for under $10, so I'd just buy a new one.

WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS THAT THE POLAROID 600 INSTANT CAMERA HAVE? IF YOU DO NOT OWN A FILM HOW CAN YOU TELL IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A GOOD WORKING CAMERA?

Usually, these cameras were rock solid in quality. However, without having film in it, it would be difficult to determine, through a test photo, if everything was correct on it.

The film has a battery in it that powers up the camera. So, purchasing one without film would be like purchasing a digital camera without batteries in it, already.

Hi,

The SX70 film pack contains the battery that allows the shutter to activate. Unfortunately you may have a difficult time finding it. Below are a couple links with some good SX70 info. The second one even has a link to the user guide in PDF format. I think the Q-light was on some of the One Step cameras. is that what you have?

Thanks for using Fixya. Good luck.

I did find a site that sells the film...at $24.50 a pop!

You may find some additional info there too.

Sx-70 is Not Ejecting FIlm When Taking Picture

Possible you got a bad film cassette. In the original Polaroid camera packs they had batteries which actually powered the whole camera. The batteries may be dead or not have much charge in them. They are good for a couple years and as you indicate the expiration is up in another month... Good luck

the flash will work when you put film in. the film has a battery and the camera works off the battery in the film. the arrows make the picture dark or light.
the polaroid spectra onyx made in 1987 is a totally sharp and beautiful looking camera. you also can put filters on the front of it. this camera was used by law enforcement many years ago so it is made very steardy and well. i own one myself and the pictures are perfect everytime. look this camera up on Ebay, you will not be disappointed.

also, here is a website for you to look up film information
