Trying to wire my amp to my subs

I have two Rockford Fosgate P2D210 subs and an Infinity Reference 1211a amp. I do not really know how to wire them, right now I have a positive and negative on each sub wired together then a positive from the amp going to each of the positive terminals on the sub same thing for negative, is that right?

No thats not it you are lucky you havent burned it up like that. wire each speaker to its own source positive and negative, you loose power when you bridge an amp and use two speakers, its best to hook up without bridging you will get more volume that way.

Im looking at this rockford fosgate p700-1bd amp brand new for $300 it comes with a birth sheet it says 750 rms on a 1ohm load. i cant find any reviews about it 225 rms x 1 @ 4-Ohms 450 rms x 1 @ 2-Ohms...

You can't go wrong with Rockford, in my opinion. Everything they make is well built and high quality. I personally have two Rockford p500-1bd amps hooked up to four 12 inch subs in my car and those amps make those subs slam. I have them wired down to 1 ohm and the specs say that they should be pushing 500 rms a piece at 1 ohm so that p700-1bd amp really packs a punch. Depending on what you're hooking up to that amp I would defenitely recommend it to you. - Ryan in Alaska

I have a four channel rockfor fosgate amp and I need to know hows the best way to connect Infinity Reference 1252w Car Subwoofers

Rockford fosgate usually work best with 2 ohm speakers. Depending on the resistance of your speakers, will then give you best connection. Check the resistance for the subwoofers. If the subwoofers are two ohm then connect them directly right and left. But if they are 4 ohm connect them parrallel (positive to postive, negative to negative and bridge the amp.) Good Luck, please rate.

Reference 1211a Car Audio Amplifier: stays in protection mode...

Has an internal issue, if you know how to use a ohm meter, check the resistance of the wire on the interior of the amp, also check the fuses, ground, and power wire clean up the ground wire where it is connected to the vehicle

Infinity 1211a @ 2 Ohms

Hello monkey_flea, Your subs will share the amp output. And if you are not careful, you'll end up blowing them. The amp puts out 1300 watts RMS at 2ohms, the subs have an RMS power range of from 75-350 watts, and you'll be driving them with 650 watts each. A better power match would be to series the subs to present an 8ohm final load. This will reduce the output power to a level the subs can handle. Or you could buy 2 more 12.1's and connect them series-parallel for a 4ohm load and each sub would still be getting 325 watts RMS, just about the maximum they are rated to handle. Hope this helps.
