I cant get the tv on...a red light comes on but it wont get a picture and i dont have the remote anymore

Ok i have the remote how do i take it out of stand bye with the damn remote

The TV may simply be stuck in standby, the remote control will be required to get it started if there are no front panel controls. If there are front panel controls then the panel lock may be on. The remote is needed.

I had the same problem and i found a really easy and cheap fix with a little help we fixed ourself. we found a little red orange chicklet piece that had 2 wires to board that had burnt obviously, so we found another and used our own weller iron to heat up old pull out. then replace with new and odd more soldier. be sure not to drip or heat too much. not bad for a beginner or trained tech. The guy at frys electronics was no help he said dont try and pay too much to fix, myas well buy a new. cost to repair $3.00.
