Ineed to access the power jack? How do i get

My power jack is loose. On my compaq presario cq50. Can anyone give me a detailed description on how to get at it. I have gotten as far as removing the key board but dont know what to do next. I dont want to break anything. Or can some one tell me where i can get a manual for this model thanks

Go to hp.com you can download manuals and drivers for your specific laptop,

on a side note, It has been my experiance that the power jacks are soldered on the mainboard and then thinly coated with glue so they hold position, keep that in mind because with yours being loose the odds are that the glue around your power jack is broken, so when you pull the jack out from the plastic case be careful not to break the solder connection on the mainboard

Hi, how's it going? i'd like to ask you if how to fix my laptop-compaq presario cq50 black screen then not botting. nothing messages appears.
1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad.
6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

My Presario CQ50 won't turn on even when plugged in. Battery charge light flashes, but no other lights come on. Do I need a new battery?
Most likely issue is that the cord has been damaged, or that the power jack has become loose.

First step is to remove the battery and try plugging in. If the light comes on, on the front of the laptop, your battery may be dirty or defective.
If the unit will still not power, you will need to test your cord or look into a new cord. If the cord puts out the proper 19v (give or take .5v) then the issue lies with the laptop jack. Otherwise a new cord will most likely do the trick.

Key on keyboard came loose
This is issue with laptops when you type fast sometime you hit the keys from the side and overtime they come loose or from overheating…the only way is by replacing the keypad…sorry.
