I am having charging issues with my V92c. last year the stater was replaced, now the bike runs good but, the battery is not fully charged. I checked the out put with a volt meter, the voltage reads anywhere from 11.5 - 12.05 volts. What could be the problem? The voltage regulator or stater?

TO CHARGE A BATTERY YOUR ALTERNATOR SHOULD BE PUTTING OUT 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLTS. WITH THE BIKE RUNNING TEST THE OUTPUT AT THE BATTERY TERMINALS AND HAVE SOME ONE REV THE BIKE A LITTLE AND SEE IF THE OUTPUT INCREASES , IF NOT I WOULD LEAN TOWARDS THE ALTERNATOR

Depending how old is the battery , it could be on its way out . check one thing first ...
turn your bike on ,
turn the head light on ,
while given a bit of gas , check if the light increases in brightness .
If it does , the regulator will be ok as well as your magneto/altenator .
if it does not increases in brightness , you have to check the output from your altenator and see if the ouput is greater than after the regulator .
if the output is the same while revs are up , you have a faulty altenator .

I have a 1992 yamaha virago 1100 new battery will not keep charge once in motorcycle?

That happened to me last year on my virago 1100. Battery would fully charge, but not hold once in the bike. It was a brand new battery from GP Bikes. I took it back to the store and they checked the charge with their machine, which is better than mine. The battery was a lemon. They replaced it and the new one worked perfectly. But what a pain for a few weeks to figure out it was the battery and not the bike.

Lost spark, Need resistance readings for stater, exciter coil to see if it went bad, the bike would run fine then loose power, eventually no spark at all? Does this usaully go out on these bikes?

Check your battery first. It sounds as if you have a bad rectifier or regulator. The battery voltage should be about 12 volts when not charging and about 13.3 to 14.5 volts when charging. If the battery isn't charging you will only be able to run on the charge in the battery (which won't last long).

I have had over 20 bikes over the last 44 years and never had a battery last longer than 4yrs. Im guessing the battery needed to be replaced anyway. Did you check to see if the switch on the kick stand safty was stuck? What is going on with the emergency kill switch, is it sticking? I would check the connections to the starter and the starter relay as well.

How long is the bike setting between when you park it and when you try to start it again? When you get ready to ride it, did you put a battery charger on it and bring the battery to a full charge?

When thinking it's getting to be time to ride, I recommend charging the battery with a charger disigned for ATV'S/motorcycles. When the battery is fully charged, take the charger off and test the battery with a load tester. If it passes the load test, attempt to start the bike. If it starts, and there is no further problems, Enjoy the ride till you park it long term again. I might suggest putting a battery tender and very slow trickle chat=rge on during storage

Hope this helps you

I recently bought a 2005 softail deluxe and was told before purchase the battery was going out so the seller put a new battery on before purchase. I rode the bike for approximately 3-5 days with no issues...

If you are buying a multitester also consider buying a small motorcycle battery charger. They make ones that have a remote charging cable that you put on the battery one time and then you have an easy way to connect the small charger up when the bike it sitting for long periods. This will keep the battery fully charged and ready to go when you are.
Some batteries are sold only partially charged and you need to bench charge them fully before running them on the bike. Depending on your bikes energy demands the battery may never fully charge up during regular use.
If you put the multitester on DC voltage check the battery to see what its resting charge state is.
If the battery is reading less than 10.6 volts its probably down too low the recharge itself using the bikes alternator. Charge it until its resting voltage is 12.0 volts. Then your bikes alternator can make enough juice at 14-15 volts to recharge the battery while its running.
Good luck and be careful.

How do I get to the battery to re charge on my 2008 America

If you are haveing charging issue's and the battery is not holding a charge then the battery may have gone bad. To test the charging system on the bike you will need a volt meter. Set it to volt's and put the probs on the battery it should read 13.5 volts when the battery is fully charged. Do this test with the battery fully charged!! Next start the bike and rev it to 2500 rpm and take another reading it should read 14.5 but not higher than 15 volts. If it is then the altenator is working fine and the battery has gone bad. Batterys are only good for about 2-3 years and then should be replaced.

Dropping cylinder at 10rpm and possible generator /stater problem

It seems the charging system of your bike is not working
Recharge the battery and thn fit it in the bike and start it and check the charging rate.
Remember with lights 'on' it drains power from the battery butthe charging system of theengine takes over i.e. if its working alright, with your explanation, its for sure the charging system is not functioning.
Chekc the altenator and the rectifier.
