Good day sir/maam, first things first, make sure that the power connector of your CD/DVD drive is properly connected, if improperly connected may cause the tray not to eject. Now lets proceed to your problem, there is small hole in front of the cd/dvd drive which is used to eject the tray, use a paper clip, straighten it and poke the inside, feel the eject button. until your tray eject. thats it.

Does the light flash when you press the button? If so, was there a disk in the drive previously? There is a small hole on the front of the unit. With power off, get a paper clip and open it up halfway. Push the open end into this hole and the drawer should pop open by about half an inch. This will be enough for you to gently pull the drive open and remove anything stuck inside. Ian.

SOURCE: cd rom disk drawer will

by your cd/dvd drive. look for a tiny hole that looks about the size of a thickness of a paper click which you will need to unfold 1 and insert the tip into the hole and gently push forward and it should pop the tray open .

Cd rom door opens by itself

If the drawer does not detect that it has completely (100%) come to the "closed" position, it will open itself up, indicating that you should remove any object that is preventing the drawer from reaching the "100% closed" position.

Cd is stuck in my gateway computer

If you open Computer in the Start Menu, right click on the DVD/CD Rom, select Eject , it still will not open? Look for a "pin-hole" on the DVD/CD drawer, near the button, insert a pager clip. If the CD has exploded, which happened to me, you will have to remove the DVD/CD Rom and dissemble it.

Have knocked the cd drawer out of the drive when I fell over it after leaving it open. Can I put the drawer back into the drive?

you need to check if there are cables unplugged inside the box. there are two cables plugged in the cd rom (power and data) if there are 2 cables plugged in at the cd rom and the other end of it then its ok for you to screw the cd drive in the cpu.

Cd rom drawer on dell laptop won't open

hello, have you tried going into "My Computer" then right clicking on cd drive and click "Eject"? if not, try that.
if you have then take a thin paper clip open up one side of it so its straight.
After you have paper clip straighten up look carefully around the cd rom's eject button and you will notice a tiny hole.
Take the paper clip and keeping it straight slowly and gently insert in the hole and soon you will feel little resistance push it a little bit more and that should eject your CD rom.
if it opens up leave the cd rom open and reboot your laptop once and see if your drive now work normally and ejects the way it should?

hope this helps, post back if you have issues.

Kind regards,

Cannot open cd drawer

If it will not open by itself, open up a small paperclip and push it into the little hole on the front of the cd rom. This will release the latch, and allow the drawer to open

Internal CD ROM will Not Open

Unless you can do electronic repair yourself and have the schematics for the drive it will be far cheaper and easier for you to simply replace it. Any DVD drive for computers will fit in there. I would buy a new one rather than used so you make sure and get the software with it. Replacing the drive is a 30 minute job at most.

DVD had a jammed disc. Got it out but drawer stays open

You broke it. Spend $30 to buy a new CD/DVD reader/writer.
