My router restarts frequently.

I have a D-Link WBR-2310 Rangebooster Wireless G Router and am using firmware version 1.04, my router restarts randomly and frequently. Sometimes it will restart once an hour, sometimes several restarts within minutes of each other. I have upgraded to firmware version 1.05 which resulted in a total loss of functionality so I downgraded to 1.04

SOURCE: Unable to access DLink WBR 2310 Configuration page

Reset the router first, press the reset pinhole on the back for 10 seconds using a paper clip, don't press it too much or it will mess up the settings of the router. then try to access again the configuration page.

SOURCE: setup problem

please call dlink tech support at 877-453-5465. just an advise on how to handle the call when you reach dlink tech support (agent); do not agree to call back after you troubleshoot with them (they'll be giving you a case id reference# and be advising you to check your pc or call "who" and call them back to continue the troubleshooting). insist to the agent that he need to resolve the problem asap (by the way, agents are not allowed to drop the call or they'll be dead-history!). and if the agent still insisted you to call back, ask for a "senior level technician" to finish the job (escalate the problem).
fyi: dlink tech support handling time to resolve a call is 15 to 18 minutes only. if you reach that 15-18 minutes (max) time the agent will think of a way for you to call back (advising you to check with your pc manufacturer, check with your ISP, call microsoft to update your software, etc... non-sense!) they need to do this in order to reach their handling time (agents need to reach 21 to 25 billable calls, and billable calls are "solution provided", "resolved", and "dropped call"). ---- believe me, i was one of them ....

Low wireless signal WBR 2310 on signal strength

when a wireless router has signal strength issues, there usually is a firmware upgrade, which you can find on the manufacturer's website, that may solve this problem by upping the db of the wireless transmitter.

Wireless signal stops working after some period of time

The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset

If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can set-up form scratch.

D-link WBR-2310 has serious drop out problems

I'm pretty sure that downgrading the firmware to 1.0.3 will work. I had been running at this level for quite some time and for some reason I decided to upgrade to the latest version which started the problems for me. I am downgrading to this now and I expect better results. All of the firmware versions are available at http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=470&sec=0. You pick the right hardware revision. PLEASE NOTE: Save off/remember your settings as when you change the firmware it resets all of them back to system defaults.

Well if you updated the firmware and your still having issues contact dlink for a possible replacement it sounds like the hardware could be bad or you can try uploading same firmware by crash reseting router and uploading latest firmware again.
