My Maytag mdb 7 dishwasher stopped working on the same day that a Plumber came to our house to fix our toilet. He says he didn't turn off the water anywhere in the house, other than the valve beside the toilet. Yet our dishwasher all of a sudden stopped working. Can the 2 problems be connected? Or is it a coincidence or am i stuck replacing my dishwasher?

This is the part that you need,easy to install,your's is the old type,just turn water off,then flush,then remove excess water and install,has instructions with it,Walmart,Home depot,or Lowe's has it,cost less than 10 bucks,I use these.

****if its the tank supply line and one of the connections is leaking tighten the connection if stops done if continues to leak go to hardware ,home,or plumbing store for replacement $4-7 dollars turn shutoff valve off flush toilet to get most water out of way and disconnect line replace ****----if joint where valve is connected to main water feed if threaded try tightening connection if soldered will need to turn of water to bathroom or house and drain line and resolder connection same of pressure connection/threaded valve failure

You need a new timer mechanism. Purchase replace as required.

a plumber needs to install a anti knock pipe at the valve under the sink ....this should stop the vibes ...should only cost about 50 -75 bucks ...depending on the per hour rate of the plumber

I would cheak your float switch witch is located on the bottom of inner dishwasher move it up and down may be stuck.then try.If that will not work you may have a bad micro door switch.Good luck:)

I always think I have heard it all at times and then a story like yours rolls in....Please call a plumber,I know what I am doing and you are not going to be able to solve this online. I too had the same problem as you with my pipes freezing, but my heat was the culprit. Basicly the problem was the same. I turned the water on in the sink and when the water thawed there the pump started and oh my god I had broken water pipes in the house under the counter, so I turned the main water valve off, or the pump from the breaker box for the well. The difference is that if you turn the well pump off then the water runs until the pressure goes down. If you turn the main water off it will stop sooner. I fixed the pipes under the sink and behind the dishwasher started to leak, Fixed that and again turned on the water again at the main valve. Ask where your main water lever is. My water started to run in the sink area, but the drains were frozen, I put a heater under the house and heated up the pvc pipe that was still frozen. Of course the toilet..... When it got alittle warmer and the heat on the pipe, things broke loose. The plumber was no where to be found because they were so busy, this worked for me and people had great ideas for me to try. When the water and the pump were turned back on all leaks were fixed and things are back to normal. I am now wiser...I hope this story helps somewhat.

Check for utensils or pot handles that may be hanging below the bottom rack and interfering with motion of spray head.
Clean holes with toothpick.
Check temperature at hot water faucet with meat thermometer. If below 120°F (49°C), turn up thermostat on hot water heater.
