I have a model 665.15831791 When it fills with water it does not go into a cycle, it automatically discharges the water

It could be two things causing such problem: no power to the wash pump motor or the motor itself is bad. Remove the wire plug from the motor and check for the 120V when the timer is on wash cycle. If there is no power then check the wires and the plug at the timer. If this is not an issue replace the timer.

If there is a proper power to the motor then the problem with your dishwasher is a bad wash pump motor. If your dishwasher is less then 5 years old then it could be under limited manufacturer warranty. Call kenmore with the model and the serial numbers and they will tell you. If the dishwasher is more then 5 years old I do not recommend you to repair it yourself. I've seen many times when it's not possible to install the pump back after repair because the plastic tub got warped.

here is the link to the schematic diagrams for your dishwasher ... you can also order for timer and other parts if need be from the same link as well

I was told by a repairman that the seals around the motor swelled because I had gone on vacation for two weeks and not used the dishwasher. He charged $85 to turn the motor manually and restart the...

No. The unit most likely had some debris stuck in the macerator. The seals are water lubricated and its possible that some detergent dried between the seals. Detergent is a lot like glue when it dries. You are probably using the factory recommended amount of detergent which is, at least, twice the amount you really need. Next time you leave for an extended period, run the machine in the Rinse cycle. This will dilute or remove the detergent left in the machine

Wash Cycle Not Working

Either the wash motor plug is loose or the motor itself is bad.

Dishwasher

Hello tytsai2005
Welcome,

You said,At the end of a wash, some water still remains at the center of the bottom

You have a clogged dishwasher drain, or drain line.
Otherwise your Caloric's pump is pooping out on you!
Is the model # CDC550CL or CDC550CW ?

Here are 4 things that I believe can be the reason for your machine not pumping all the water out!

1. Defective Motor
print.gif Print save.gif Save to list email.gif E-mail to a Friend help.gif Diagnostic Help Rate Article Helpful Not Helpful Was this helpful?
How can we improve?
The water pump is driven by the drive motor. If the motor is defective, the pump will not operate and the water will remain in the tub.

2. Defective Pump
Most but not all dishwashers incorporate a reversible motor. By using a pump impeller and wash impeller, the action of washing and draining is accomplished by the reversing of the motor. If the drain impeller in the pump is defective, the water will not drain. Check the pump impeller for proper operation.

3.Drain Line
Check the drain line for kinks. If the line checks out visually, it could be an obstruction in the line

4.Garbage Disposal

If a garbage disposal has recently been installed, make sure the knock out for the dishwasher drain hose has been removed. You should also make sure that no items under the sink have been pushed into the drain hose. Any kink or crimp in the hose can cause it to stop draining.

How old is the dishwasher ?
Here is an interesting article I just read, that you may find interesting

Repair or replace?

When to pull the plug on your old dishwasher

Typically, you'll also find a troubleshooting section for more-serious problems
in the owner's manual.

Should you pay for a repair or buy a new model?
The answer depends mostly on the age of your dishwasher,
how much you bought it for,and the cost of the repair.

Follow these guidelines:

When a repair makes sense.

If your dishwasher is under warranty or less than four years old ,
paying for a repair makes sense.
Note that dishwashers under warranty might require service from a factory-authorized technician;
readers have found them on a par with independent repairers.

When a repair might be a wise choice.

If your dishwasher is out of warranty and is four to seven years old,
it might make sense to pay for a repair. Customers generally pay $100 to $200 for a repair.
But you might want to buy a new model even at this stage,
given that today's models have added features.
Higher energy efficiency is another plus: Energy Star-qualified models made after April 28, 2008,
are 43 percent more efficient than conventional models built before 2001 and 56 percent
more efficient than those built before 1993.

When it pays to replace.

The repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new dishwasher.
Data also shows that it doesn't pay to fix a less-expensive dishwasher
eight or more years old.

Thanks to better recycling programs, less than 10 percent
of dishwashers you replace are likely to end up in a landfill.

Let me know how you do!
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help!

Kenmore elite dishwasher making loud buzzing sound when washing

I had the same problem with by Kemore Ultrawash after two years. The motor bearing went bad because the seal went out and dish water got to the bearing. If you are handy, this motor comes out after taking the dishwasher out. I was surprised how easily the motor came apart from the dishwasher, a good design. The motor has three screws that holds it together, I took them out and took the motor apart.
I took the old beaing off the shaft with a grinder, careful not to groove the motor shaft. I did, but just put some high temp silicone caulk in the groove before I put the new bearing on the shaft. I bought a new bearing on the internet, it is a 22mm x 8mm x 7mm. I bought one that went in a small engine, a quality one. I placed it on the shaft, put the motor back together and put the dishwasher back together. It has run quiet and great for many weeks now. I expect the dishwasher may last many years now, because the bearing I took out was a cheap aftermarket one, and the new one is vastly superior in quality.

Good luck and fire away with any questions. I love this dishwasher and am glad I could fix it for 19$ and some of my time.

Top rack dishes are not clean

My Whirlpool dishwasher is only 2 years old and I started having the same problems. I dismantled everything I could and washed and scrubbed the entire unit with EVERYTHING..to no avail, dirty dishes!! But I discovered a remedy! Try using Lemi-Shine for about a week with your regular wash-soap. If you are using the tablet form of soap, stop and try the powdered form. Follow the instructions on the Lemi-Shine container. You can find it just about anywhere for around $3.50. I was within "5 seconds" of replacing my 2 year old Whirlpool dishwasher when this caught my eye and I figured why not try it too? After the first wash I noticed a big difference the cleanliness of the dishes..and now it is running GREAT after 2 weeks!
