Color distorted when viewing non-hdtv

My tv works fine when viewing in HDTV format but the colors are all distorted when watching non-hdtv signals. What could cause this?

    When turned on cold the picture bows and the images have a shadow in a different color almost like the alignment is off. When the TV warms up the problem goes away. It is taking longer to go away as the problem seems to be getting worse. This TV is used very little and is just out of warranty.

I replaced both backlight boards but still having problem with LCD TV...it is too dark and color distortion.
Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

What happened to my color on screen?
I experienced a similar problem with my 52" Sharp Aquos TV. I called and spoke with Sharp service dept. and they walked me thru the process of resetting the TV to it's original "default" values. It worked great once I completed the steps while on the phone with them.

suggest you do the same thing with JVC.

The color is distorted and the picture blinks. I've replaced the lamp twice before and i don't think this is a lamp problem.
color distortion (bleeding colors, or overwhelming of one color)on these tv's is commonly the optical engine. that might make it unecinomical to repair

Hello, I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used? If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii. Philips hdtv color distortion
your tv has a prolem in the color circuit there is a ic that controls this circuit changing it will restore your tv to normal.since you are not a tech have a tech look at it for repairs.good luck.
