I have a galaxy 88 and a 44. Both radios erraticly change frequency up or down way out of the usable range.

As you go up in frequency do the SWR (VSWR) go up or down? what frequency did the antenna get tuned at ?

for upper ssb adjust L21 for 16.51250 mhz . adjust L22 for 16.50750 for lower ssb. you do have a frequency counter don't you ?

The frequency doesn't change when you change to USB or LSB. Basically the AM frequency takes up a certain amount of space, known as bandwidth, so it could fill in for example use 50 hertz above and below 27.185 giving 100 hertz bandwidth. When you use sidebands the am bandwidth is split in two so the upper side band would use the 50 hertz above 27.185 and the lower side band would use the 50 hertz below. The idea is that twice as many operators can operate without interference.

UHF: 403–440, 438–470, 465–495MHz depending on the model
Motorola AXU4100 have frequency range 435 - 480 Mhz
The first model has a wider frequency range so it is best to include transmitter Motorola Axu4100 to transfer and try to receive signal to Motorola CP-200

Symptom:Buzzing or motorboating sound in either the transmit or receive.
Problem: TR602 is oscillating
Cure: Replace C602 with a .01uF cap {Cap is located in the power supply board}.
RG 66,99,DX2517 Replace Q54 2SB754 60watt 7A with a higher power 2SB817 100 Watt 12A. Derating of this component will cool operation, provide better voltage stability,decrease wobble, allow voltage increase to 14.5 volts comfortably. (replace 10 volt caps in this section of the radio to a minimum of 16 volts before increasing supply voltage to this level)and provide faster swing rise time, Replace Q37 2SA473 to a 2SA1012-0 or ECG153 this will improve the clarity and volume of the modulation and it will also run a lot cooler.

Can't help you there. It's most likely that you screwed the modulator up by extending the frequency range. I used to work for Galaxy and I know what happens to a radio when amateurs try to modify them (no offense). If you modify a high power radio such as your Super Star, you're bound to have modulation and SWR problems. In expert advice, never do amateur radio modifications to a high power radio. If you want a more versatile radio, get a Galaxy DX 2517 CB base station. The DX 2517 has PA/FM/AM/SSB/USB/LSB/CW modes, and bands A-F, and a frequency range from 25.615 to 29.205 MHz. The Galaxy DX 2517 has modifications that can be done right at the factory, they are optional however. The only thing I find annoying with the DX 2517 is that it's bulky, it leaves no room for any competition. When it was designed, the engineers left space saving out of the question.

as far as the transmit frequency changing while you have the mic keyed this is normal, the transmit frequency is a little different than the receive, as far as the lost channels go you need to check the galaxy website and check to see if thier is any fixes listed. if none is listed then you can send the tech's a e-mail and tell them your problem and they will advise you on what to do.
