I am in Sydney and the navman can't establish a signal. it remains stuck on the location it last got 'lost' on and cannot find a location.

Solution to the problem.

With the right piece of hardware and software, it ispossible to triangulate your location anywhere on earth using satellitenavigation. These gamin devices cansuccessfully guide you from one place to another, or they can simply use theconnection with the satellite to tell you your exact current location. Thelatter function requires you to know how to locate the GPS device using theoptions onscreen.
1 Purchase a GlobalPositioning System (satellite navigation) product. There are manymanufacturers, including TomTom, NavMan and Garmin.2 Turn on the GPS and leave itfor a minute or so as it establishes a connection between the device and thesatellite.
3 Navigate to the"Current Location" option in the "Tools" or"Settings" menu (the exact pathway to this option depends on whichGPS device you have). The satellite signal will now successfully locate yourGPS device.4 Type a ZIP code or placename once you have located your GPS device. The gamin can now successfully guide you to your finaldestinationThanks.

you need to open satelite tracking from menu

Get the disk that came with it and load NavDesk on your computer delete the maps on your Navman and then reload them. This fixed the problem for me.

Contact Singer Australia in Sydney, they may have stock, or you may approach any established service centre (all makes and models) ...they may have some from retired machines.

NAVMAN F10 WILL NOT ACQURE GPS SIGNAL EVEN AFTER RESETTING

when your device is stuck from the previous location, it simply means that you have lose your signal to your device...try to hard reset : turn off for 1 minute and then turn on...make sure when you turned on that you are in an open space and no tall buildings or mountains surrounding the area. if inside the car place it on the holder. or else there is a problem already on the signal antenna, check your warranty for replacement.

I installed my Navman 4150 depth finder along with the Navman GPS unit when I purchased my Bayliner Trophy 20Ft. Offshore model. Everything was ok for one year and it has been downhill since then. Losing signal, unbelievable high depth ranges, blank periods, etc.. I now can't even get a reading tieded up at the dock. I am now giving up and shoping for a quality unit.. Cape Disappointment.........

It's not unusual to lose signal indoors , in fact most portable /car devices receive very little, if any, signal indoors.

I have a Navman ICN510 running TomTom 6.0 software , instead of the standard Navcar CE program. I believe it connects much faster.

How long are you waiting and are you moving while it is trying to acquire signal? These receivers are using older circuitry that may take up to 20 minutes to first acquire a signal from a cold start. If you are moving it may take longer!!! The good news is that after you have initially acquired a location, if you turn the unit off it will only take a minute or so to reacquire after it has "warmed" up.
