HT-R510 home theater system

I have an onkyo ht-r510. When I turn the system on it automatically shuts off and goes into standbye mode. The standbye light blinks. I tried turning it off and back on after 30min. like the manual says. this does not work. My manual says its the amp protection system. how do I reset this? Please help! I just bought it and there isn't a service dealer anywhere close to me.

Your Amp is going into a Protect mode due to the damages of the power transistors and the two 0.22 ohm resistor. Go to you tube and search for onkyo repair and SR600 cap replacement and HTR500 won‘t stay on. In HTR500, I wrote some troubleshooting steps. There is an email in SR600 ,sending an email to me for further discussion.

If bought new return immediately for replacement. The amp section is no good and cannot be reset - needs repair. but you are under WARRANTY - use it.

SOURCE: Onkio receiver

The output transistors should be replaced in pairs. Also, It may not be just the output transistors that are defective. If you have no experience with these types of repairs, I would suggest that you bring the unit to a service shop. The outputs will run about $15-$25 per pair.

Intermittent speaker performance - receiver issue - not a speaker issue

Matt,

Have you checked/cleaned the leads on each speaker as one bad lead or speaker can pull/push extra power from/to other speakers causing shorts, this is likely not the case but could be the easy fix. Try cutting one speaker out at a time rotating which one is disconnected to see if this fixes the issue and possibly points out either a bad speaker or connection.

Onkyo HT-R510

have you tried to reset it to factory defaults yet? If it has a vcr button on the front, then hold the vcr button and press power...it should say reset on the front. Might not help, but worth a try.

Selecting phono preamp for Onkyo HT-R510

The magnetic cartridge preamp should work with the turntable, as presumably it will have a magnetic cartridge in it. The only reason that the amp states "magnetic" is that some very old turntables have ceramic cartridges which should not be connected to that terminal. Even if the turntable had a "ceramic" it could be replaced with a magnetic one!

My Onkyo HT-R510 will shut down after several

Might be over heating. Make sure you don't have anything sitting directly on top of it. I even put a little fan blowing outward at the back of my system to keep it cool.

It's possible that you have the wrong speaker set (A or B). Look for that button and change the setting and see if that works
