No Sound ... (main input module) ?

I have a Polaroid FLM-3225 32" LCD Television which is 14 months old which has suddenly developed a no-sound condition. Everything else works, good picture from tuner, both DVD and VCR inputs have good picture, however there is absolutely no sound. I took the set to a local shop who has advised me the "main input module" has gone bad and must be replaced at a cost of over $450. I find this a little un-believable, especially since everything works, except for the sound ! Please share with me your expert opinion.

The module itself is 56.00 dollars then the labor to install, its hard to find the seperate components the factory has set things so that you have to buy the whole control module to replace one part or board. try and find that component on e bay or used some where thats your best bet to fix it.

I am attempting to attach a Samsung Sound Bar to my 42 inch LCD 1080P Polaroid Television. I can not seem to get sound from the Television connected to the Sound Bar. Thoughts?

Connect the audio out RCA jacks (white and red) on the TV to the white and red RCA input jacks on the sound bar for analog stereo sound or connect the black digital audio output jack (typically optical) on the TV rear panel to the sound bar's optical digital audio input jack for surround sound. Use an optical cable. There may be some user settings on the TV for audio.

Tv suddenly shuts off then blue screen

Examine the electrolytic capacitors on the power supply circuit board. If they have vented, then replace them with premium quality units such as Panasonic/Matsushita from Digikey. Should restore your power supply immediately and eliminate this problem for many many years. Estimated life 5-10 years. About $10.00 in parts.

Best to replace ALL electrolytics on the power supply to ensure a long life TV.

Sounds like the back light is out, and the unit needs servicing. You can check this by shining a flashlight close to the surface, and if some image is seen, the the back light is the cause. Else the LCD driver is gone.

Sound suddenly went out on Polaroid FLM 3232...

I also had this problem with the sound suddenly going out. After spending hours determining that it was not caused by my cable box, and unlocking volume codes and such, I took someone else's advice and hooked up a cheap surround sound speaker system through the audio ports on the back. Now I have sound for my tv, and it even sounds better than when the tv sound was working.

On Polaroid tv's ther is no individual parts available. You have to replace the control module.
Send me the model and serial number and I will give you a Quote on the cost of the module.
