I have a Onkyo HT-S6100 sound system which has the HT-R667 receiver. I have a DirecTV dvr hooked up with hdmi, a PS4 hooked up with hdmi, and a Wii hooked up through component cables. The receiver is hooked up with with hdmi to the tv. The problem is that sometimes when I switch over to the PS3 or Wii, I will get audio without video. All I get on my tv is a no signal screen. My satellite, however, will always work. Also, this does not happen everytime and most of the time the video will eventually come on. I've tried resetting the system, but it eventually starts up again. Any solutions?

Update: I tried the hdmi from the PS3 straight into the tv. It still didn't have video (though it would read it was hooked up). So I thought maybe it was a bad hdmi cable, but I checked the same cable coming out of the receiver to the tv. It worked that way. Then I took the cable originally going out of the receiver to the tv and hooked it up to the PS3. It worked going from the PS3 directly to the tv, but not from the PS3 to the receiver (still no video). Why would the first cord still work from the receiver to tv, but not the PS3 to tv?

My HT-S6100 had a similar problem with my DVD player and some times with my Cable/DVR box. The signal wasn't getting received at the TV. So, first I changed the input jacks my DVD and Cable box are plugged into on the receiver (e.g. from HDMI 1 & HDMI 3 to HDMI 2 & HDMI 4). Second, I reprogrammed the Input Assignments to match (e.g. HDMI in 2&4). Third, I deleted any Input Assignments that weren't applicable. For instance, I'm only using HDMI connections, but there were Digital and Component Input Assignments programmed in. When I say I deleted them, I actually set them to "----" (just scroll through the options and you'll find this.) Finally, I turn on my video/audio sources (PS3 in your case) and let them load/warm up before I turn on my Onkyo receiver. It seems to be working. Good luck.

Why don't I have satellite picture.

You need to give more information. For instance, do you get a picture when using a DVD/BluRay player, Roku or gaming system of any kind? Are you connecting with HDMI , analog or optical?
Have you tried connecting your satellite receiver directly to your TV?
If so is there a picture and sound? If not it might be the satellite system.

This is a rather uncomplicated satellite receiver, and basically only has a left/right audio out.
You can hook these into any of the stereo type inputs on the HT-RC230.
This receiver is also the "wal-mart" brand of Onkyo (not their best stuff) - so I suggest you take the L/R audio out on the DVR and put it into ANY available (cd/tape/dvd) stereo input on the receiver.
You aren't going to get better sound out of any specific input.

I have an Onkyo HT-S6100 home theater not sending picture to TV.

I just fixed mine with the same problem. Apparently, the HT-R667 and 606 receiver that comes with 6100 has a problem with the HDMI board. Onkyo wanted $500 dollars to fix it, costed me $16. Here's how to fix it. http://www.highdefforum.com/high-definition-receivers-recorders-players-tivos/121956-repairing-onkyo-htr667-aka-606-a.html

Cable TV blinks on and off when connected to my Onkyo receiver.

I have the same problem.  It only occurs with my HD DVR (HDMI cable), not my blue ray (HDMI cable), or my xbox and wii (component video).  Video and audio cutout is random and drives the family nuts.  I am desperate for a solution.

There seems to be a lot of this type of lack of signal (video, audio or both) with this system. I have the same system and the same problem. Mine is working now. I'm using all HDMI connections. I think the other important thing to do is "delete" all Input Assignments that are not being used. By "delete" I mean set the Input Assignments to "----". Let me know if this helps.

No surround sound from my PS3 through the Onkyo 5100. Video OK

Unfortunately only the higher end Onkyo Reciever pass audio over HDMI for sound. 605,705,805,905 exc. Your reciever will carry Video over HDMI but you will need a digital optical cable for sound.

thanks.

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. Your hook up should have nothing to do with the remote. You should get some functions like on/off, volume control. Thank you, Onkyo, USA
