printer will let you print and copy.when you try and scan something it says there is no scanning options.when trying to load the software in it has a error saying this a runtime error.Program d:/setup\hpzwup01.exe application terminated.

Also you get a message saying install consumer experience preinstallupdateplugin please close.

    Program D:/setup\hpzwup01.exe yenu-fh:\windows\hpoins06.dat-validate no-w 328182

SOURCE: scanning is not working

Open the solution center and click on settings. Take the pointer on scan settings and click on scan to setup.
A new destination list will open and take all the entries, one by one, to right, and click on update the device. If it is already on right, please take it to left and click on update the device and again take it to right and click on update the device.
Then restart the printer and the issue will be fixed.

Refer to device documentation to trouble shoot

you need to set up your scan to option.
this can be done from the hp software
open solution center click settings then scan settings
from there select scan to set up
a window will open and then click on front panel destination list
once again a window will open with a double pane on the left side is your short cut options click on them one at a time click add then once satisfied with options click update the device or ok
if it fails to update reset the printer and try those steps again, or re install just the drivers
if the same message appears then check the settings on your firewall

Can't scan on the HP OfficejetJ4580

Uninstall everything that has to do with your old HP printer, drivers, photo processing, etc. Reinstall software with J4580 printer. That should open HP Digital Imaging Monitor where you can set scanning options. Plug printer into the back opf your computer. Plug power supply directly into the wall socket.
