  • majelken Feb 05, 2009

Happened after power went out and came back on. Initially the net command screen came up but wouldn't let me select device (blank blue screen). I shut the tv off, but it would turn back on. unplugged for a while and reset. would not come on. left unplugged overnight, came on to the net command screen, but it was froze ( i left this on for over 24 hours for the store that I bought from could look at it). After resetting again will not turn on. Green timer light blinks but will not power up. Help!

I have the red light when off and when I turn it on a green light, I can hear it turn on but nothing ever comes on the screen. After a few minutes it goes back to red.

Hold the MENU and DEVICE buttons when turning on the TV and get error code

  • Anonymous Dec 19, 2007

12 = No error detected, check power supply.

**Possible cause: **You may have a bad DM Module!**
It is highly likely the root cause of the failed DM Module are the
blue, electrolytic PTH Capacitors on the board..

Wd 62628 lamp indicator light is solid yellow / orange what needs to be done

Your lamp cover is not installed. That is what causes the LED to light amber. Remove and re-seat the lamp cover door. There is a switch it hits to tell the TV the door is shut. This is to protect you from electrocution.

Mitsubishi WD-62628 power shuts off!

You most likely have some faulty capacitors on the power module. You can easily identify a bust capacitor. They will have swollen tops. Here is a sample pic:

Check the specifications of the faulty capacitors, and getthe replacements from your local electronics shop. If you are comfortable withthis, you can use a pair of needle nose pliers to G-E-N-T-L-Y pull out thedefunct capacitors. Once that is done, solder in the new capacitors carefully. Ifare unsure how to do this, try to get a friend who knows this kinda stuff to doit for you, or get a qualified technician.
Warning: If you do not have a background inelectronics repair, or are inexperienced, get a qualified technician to do itfor you.

REMEMBER there are very dangerous voltages inside a TVthat can KILL. Be sure to work SAFE when dealing with electricity. DISCONNECTTHE POWER BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.

If you want to go in for a long term solution, youcan easily replace the whole power board. You can get spare from HERE.
They also offer FREE online technical advice as you do the DIY..

Hope that helps!

Try pressing power button for 10 seconds or until it turns off. Wait for 1 minute and turn it on again.
BTW, I own a 73 inch model.

Trying to access the device menu on our WD 62628 causes the system to reset itself. Help!!

Reset the tv by pressing menu and 2470 then enter. If this doesn not fix then you have either a bad e2p or dm.

New bulb/TV still shuts down

Its far more likely the result of the power pwb capacitors that have failed. As the 34 code will appear if the capacitors fail on the Power PWB. You can get the V26 DLP Power repair kit at the following link.with free instructions

Here is the picture for a Mitsu62525 power board, which is similar.

You recognise it because you get power cables innesting into the power board.

If you decide to work on your TV, get the service manual first.

Wd 62628 tv

After I reset the system, the Audio menu gave me access to the TV speakers that had been turned off. I turned them on and had to wire audio cabes from my sat box to the component audio in on the TV.

This is generally a Power Supply problem, usually the SMPS so it's replacement or repair.
