Door Keeps Locking and Unlocking after Power Outage
About one hour into a cleaning cycle of my JTP18, the power went out for about six hours. When the power came back on, I reset the clock, but noticed that the display was flashing LOCKED DOOR, and I could hear the motorized door latch continually locking and unlocking the door. Pressing CLEAR has no effect. If I press the SELF CLEAN button, then START, it looks like a clean cycle is starting, but it really isn't. The door keeps on locking and unlocking, endlessly. Pressing any button for a normal oven function makes the display show the word "door".
I found the solution in proover's posting. A thermostatic switch opened when the cooling fan was no longer running because of the power outage and the control area got too hot. The service paper taped in the control bay of the oven stated that the switch would open at 220°F and needed to be manually reset. The switch was mounted to the bottom of the control bay (top of the oven), directly in front of the fan. There was a small button on the backside of the thermostatic switch. When I pressed it, there was a single "click", and that was it. Turned the power back on to the oven, and everything's functioning normally once again.

Having the exact same issue but having trouble locating the thermostatic switch to reset in the oven - can someone offer a more detailed explanation of how to find the switch in order to reset?

I would suggest set unit in self clean then cancel, this should rotate the lock and reset the lock position for you, apparently the unit was in a cycle when the power issue accrued and is unable to reset on its own. Try this and see if this corrects this issue for you.
I understand you have a Vking oven that is not unlocking after stopping (interupting) a self clean cycle, correct ? (I think the letters in the model should be "DSOE" as opposed to deso, aren't they ?)
Though this can cause issue's with the lock mechanism, it is unlikely anything was damaged...in my opinion of course, thus I don't think you need to start swapping parts.
If this hasn't already been done, I would suggest prepairing your oven as if everything was status quo for a self clean cycle.
Close the door, select self clean and let it go through it's start-up and lock sequence. Your going to stop it again, just as Viking instructs pressing "off" which should allow the lock mechanism to properly lock and then unlock.
During the clean cycle the unit usually has to cool before allowing for the door to open which can take up to 30 minutes, (this is why it counts down from 4 hrs even though the cycle is 3.5 hours) but since it should already be cool I'm hoping the lock will go a full revolution to it's normal position.
Normally these ovens will go through a self check sequence upon a power up (if power was lost and then restored...aka "onboard watchdog") which should include the lock assembly rotating to it's unlock position, but they can get out of sequence at times in my experience.
The other method I've tried and had success with is having a secone person hold the door switch closed while power is turned off and then restored a few minutes later.
Let me know if you have tried that and if not try it and get back to me. Hopefully that will restore it's proper function. Good luck.
You will need to press the stop/cancel button, next press the self clean button, you do not have to set the time the cleaning cycle takes approx 3-1/2 to 4 hours and the cool down takes another 45 minutes to one hour, it will clean and cool down and you do not need to interrupt this cycle, it will let you know when it is complete.
OK, this is not a good situation here. your Electronic Oven Control board is damaged. the logic sectors are faulty. The F-1 represents a major EOC failuer and, you will need to replace your EOC(clock) asap, if possible.
Depending on the condition of the oven, it could take up to 4 hours.
I ran the auto self clean on my oven last week for the first time and it set automatically for 3 1/2 hours. (It stunk, but it worked.)
A couple things to remember is: (1) Make sure you do not turn the light on inside the oven. The clean cycle should disable it. (2) Lock the door if it does not lock itself. (3) Do not open the door during the clean cycle.
Remember the self cleaning temperature is extremely high. Do not allow children in the area while doing it.

For me the solution was in the temperature sensor. The Locked light kept flashing and the door locking mechanism kept cycling when the door was shut or if I just held the oven light switch in the closed door position. After replacing the control panel I still had the same problem. Next I turned off the breaker and then took off the wire covers on the back of the oven and disconnected the temperature sensor. I then checked the continuity of the sensor which was fine. With the sensor still unplugged, I turned the breaker back on and the panel said locked but the locking mechanism was not cycling. With power still on to the oven I connected the temperature sensor. It worked. All I had to do was press the clear button on the touch panel and everything was fine. I turned the breaker back off and reassembled the oven. Hope this helps.
most of the time a simple fix....

you have to trick the door lock mech into cycling through the cleaning process (takes about 20 seconds)
PrintRange - “LOCKED DOOR” flashes in the display
If “LOCKED DOOR” is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control:
Motorized Switch
With the door open, locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven. It will look like a small black post or dowel.
Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off, indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
While you hold the door jamb switch in this position, complete the following steps.
Press the Clean pad, wait 10 seconds.
When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it.
Wait 10 seconds for the display to clear.
The door should unlock and there should not be a need for service.
Manual Switch
Press the Clean pad.
Close the door.
Slide the latch to lock the door.
Hit the cancel button immediately.
Unlock the door.
If the above does not correct the situation, a service technician will need to check your cooking product. To obtain in or out of warranty repair on Major Appliances, you may call 1-800-GE-CARES (800-432-2737) or schedule service online.
