Nikon D60 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens Logo

Error Message When I take a photo with Nikon D60 it's as though the shutter gets stuck and it gives an error message on the screen (Error! Press shutter release button again.) The top half of the photos are completely black. Also, there have been a couple of times during this problem that the shutter clicks and when looking through the viewfinder everything appears tinted. Weird, I know! Any ideas or suggestions?

Try to take off the battery and reset the camera. You can also try to remove the lens and check the mirror opening..see if there is some thing stuck there. You can try to click the shutter while the lens is removed. If this procedure didn't work I suggest calling Nikon for further repairs.

My D60 only when I use the flash I get an error message job nr

Job NR is usually associated with the camera's processing time during very slow shutters. If you wait long enough it will show you the image you've taken but because the shutter is very slow, the image will be blurry and unrecognizable. On manual mode or Shutter speed priority change your shutter speed to at least .125 of a second. That should fix the problem.

I have turned camera on and set up to take a photo and the shutter release button will not press in to take the photo. I used the camera yesterday and it worked fine!

Turn the camera on and look into the view finder while you try to press the shutter button. Check the information in the view finder to see whether you are getting an error message. If you see an error message in the view finder, remove the lens cap and proceed to take a photograph but, instead of pressing the shutter button this time, press the button near the top of the camera on the back which says "AF/AE. If the camera takes the photo it means you have somehow initiated the auto focus/auto exposure lock which the camera will not override when attempting to take a photo using the shutter button. When you use the AF/AE button, you override this system. To remedy this issue, when you get the error message try pressing the shutter button again. Also, remove the lens to see if the shutter inside has frozen in the "locked" position. If you find this to be the case you will need to contact Nikon Customer Support. The link for Nikon Support is below. The numbers are half-way down the page.

Error in display

Press the shutter release again. Take out the battery and put it back in a while (1-2 min). Reset the camera with the reset button.

If this doesn't work, take it to the Nikon repair.

Nikon D60 "Press shutter release button again". Camera "stuck" and not working.

Remove the battery and let the camera sit for a few minutes. Reinsert the battery and turn the camera on. If the error persists, then consult with a Nikon-authorized service representative.
