My black & decker smartbrew 12 cup coffee pot is not working right. When I plug it in, the clock flashes, and if you try to set the clock, the numbers race all the way to 12:00 and then the auto light begins blinking. Nothing turns on the pot or helps, not even pushing buttons. It won't make any coffee or let me program it, and I dont have the manual since it was a hand me down from mom.

It's possible that the hose or valve running from the tank to the heater is partly clogged. See superkev2000 and W5VSI fixes posted here.

Finally, I got my coffee pot to run through without stopping several times. To fix it I had to run vinegar through eight times! Never before has it taken so many cycles to clean out a pot. It is still spluttering a bit so today I am going to get more vinegar or maybe even CLR and run it through a few more times.

Loosen the charcoal filter. You only need to GENTLY place it in. Your problems will all be solved. I just did it 5 minutes ago and i just brewed a 6 cup pot of coffee completely.

Te water fill lid is not closed or or the flow valve in the tank is plugged. Remove the basket and clear the hole in the bottom of it.. If new, return it to place of purchase.
