Voice mail the above phone is driving me nuts. The base message indicator never shows a message, yet both hand sets indicate "new voice mail". The instruction do not indicate how to retrieve these voice mails and how to get messages to be noted on the base display. Do I have a lemon?

You should have an indicator in your status bar. Try leaving your self a message and see if it shows up.

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

That is the message waiting indicator, it is telling you that your Call Notes (Or whatever your service provider calls it's voicemail) has a message waiting. If you do not have a message waiting, you can turn the light of by following these steps:

Resetting the voice message waiting indicator
When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset flashes and
appears in the handset display. In the event your message waiting light gets out of sync with your phone company’s
voice messaging system, you can manually reset it back to the “No messages waiting” state.
Press and hold FIND on the base for five seconds.
Note: The handsets connected to the base will start to beep, however, keep pressing for five seconds.
A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

This feature is country dependent and may not
appear in some countries.
If you have subscribed to the voicemail service
from your local service provider, icon turns
on when you have a new message in your
mailbox. After you have accessed to all the new
messages, icon will turn off automatically. If
you find that the message waiting indication
cannot be turned off by the network, you can
still turn off the message waiting indication with
your phone by the following step :

In idle mode, if voice mail waiting icon is on,
long press the redial key to turn off the voice mail waiting
icon.
Once you choose to delete the message waiting
indication, all the other handsets registered to
the same base station will turn off the message
waiting indication accordingly.

This is the problem, thebase charge light flashes continuously,It says that I have a new voise mail and the the base says (00)

Why am I receiving a memory full notification? Memory full warning notifications are shown once the SMS memory reaches 80% full, which is 80 out of 100 SMS.
The notifications show up every time on receiving a new message. On reaching 100%, "Memory full notification" message is shown and no new messages will be received until we make space for incoming messages by deleting some from the inbox.
Memory full warning notices are shown only if "Auto Erase Inbox" is set to Off in Messaging settings (Menu -> Settings -> Messaging).
If set to On, then these notices are not shown. By default this is set to Off.

Could you please post the type of phone system or the type of phone you are using and I'll try to help. When you have a message light but the voicemail says you have no messages it usually means someone in the office set the lamp, not the voicemail system.

I had this, seems that my phone service provider (AT&T) has a voice answering service that automatically connected to the new phone. Try checking with your phone service provider how to set up - mine was *98

on the base set, press and hold the voice mail 1 button. You will get a message clear voice mail indication? hit the sel/save button to the left of the display.

That blinking indicates a message in a third party voicemail (voicemail provided to you from your phone company), contact them as they may be charging you for a service you do not use.

• Provided your phone company offers voice messaging service and you subscribe
to it, the charge/in use indicator on the base flashes when the phone is not in use
to indicate there is a message waiting. It stops flashing after the message has
been reviewed.
