Technics SL-1350 Direct Drive Turntable

Hello...the needle skips on the last track of both sides of any record I play. Any suggestions as to how I can make the needle play all the way through my albums? Thanks. Mike

Thanks John. No doubt the arm appears to be making contact with the cuing lift as the arm rides through the last track and nearer the center of the record, although when it begins to skip seems inconsistent from record to record. There is a screw next to the cuing lift that is visible when I look down upon the cuing lift. Do I turn this screw to raise or lower the cuing lift? Thanks again. Mike

Hi
Check that the cuing lift isn't touching the arm as it gets to the end of the record.

My turntable won't play at 33rpms. tried the pitch adjustment with no success. my turntable is a Technics model#SL-35

First, I'm not a Technics tech.
* Normally I would suggest to check for warranty, but this unit is outdated.
* Try to contact ; https://www.technics.com/us/support/
*** The following is for information only.***
* The following vid shows the speed switch on the left. If it's not tracking then there may be a problem in the selector switch, sync tracking, or motor drive.
* You may want to check the "window" or sensor of the the speed sync light (the orange light). Wipe down the lamp and the peep hole where the sensor is located (on or near the lamp)
* Wipe down the outer edge of the turn table to clean the metal "dots" or "bars" on the rim. This is what the sensor reads to determine speed.
* Speed controls and direct drive turntable are not customer serviced parts (other than replacement of the component).

When i play a record it skips and when i play it on another turntable the same record doesnt skip

Hi, most likely a worn stylus or the tracking weight is set too lightly. Adjust the balance weight at the back end of tonearm forward slightly. If no weight adjustment available put a very small coin on the end of tonearm above the stylus. [email protected]

Hi, could just be platter not fitted hard down on spindle. I suggest you remove the platter and place it upon a dead flat surface to check to see that the platter is flat. If it is flat refit to turntable ensuring it is hard down on the spindle. If bent discard and replace with new platter.Platters can be ordered for all model 1200/1210 from [email protected]

Tone arm skipping records.

The anti skate adjustment. And if you scratch @ all....move the weight all the way in and take off the little extra one that screws in on the back. Also a great tracking needle is a M44G.

Needle skipping & not pushing down

There should be an "anti-skate" adjustment to control the arm moving across the record. It is possible that lubrication has stiffened up as well. This unit may need a general overhaul/cleaning.

EVERYTIME I PLAY A RECORD IT DRAGS TO PICK UP SPEED

Are you sure you have a Technics SL1200MK2 Direct Drive Turntable? If so, then there is a major problem with the drive system. This can only be diagnosed and repaired by a qualified technician.

If your turntable is not the Techics SL1200MK2, and you have no idea what turntable you have, look at the model's label, if it says BELT DRIVE - this is the reason why it drags to pick up speed. If it says DIRECT DRIVE, then take it to a service center for repair.

Adjustments on Technics SL-B2 Automatic Turntable

the pitch is just the speed, adjust to your liking.

"How do I adjust tracking pressure and anti skate?
If you are lucky enough to have these two adjustments here's how: Move tracking force counter weight till needle suspends/hovers above record. then rotate numbers to zero. (this is zero grams pressure on record) then rotate weight AND numbers to recommended tracking pressure for your needle usually 1.5 to 3 grams is average. Then rotate anti skate to be equal. That should get you there. If you still have adjustment related distortion then it may be time for a new needle.
NOTE: Anti skate is adjusting side to side pressure WITHIN GROOVE of record. Tracking pressure is how hard the needle is pushing down inside the groove." from

turntableneedles.com/FAQs_ep_33.html

lots of crackles are caused by crummy records and needles. to some small degree are unavoidable no matter what, but above all the records must be clean.

someday the manual may show up for free here
