I just bought a 2nd hand honda excell psi max vr 2522 2.2 gpm max 5.5 hp gvc160. i put gas and oil and it wouldn't start?

Depending on the carburetor setup that pressure washer has, remove air filter, as well as plastic enclosure behind air filter. Remove bolts that hold carburetor to block. Remove gas line after clamping hose if has gas in tank. Remove throttle linkage carefully and spring. Once you have carburetor in hand, remove carburetor bowl. Look inside (where the bowl bolt goes into) and you should see a slot for a flathead screwdrivew, carefully remove that jet. Once that piece is out there should be a longer jet that falls out, if not, open carb and u will see other end inside carb, just gently press dwn on it to assist ot out. With a dental pick or simmilar tool, make sure all those tiny holes are open and clean of debri. Reassemble, and should fire up and stay running, if not amazon sells carburetors for between 5 and 20 bucks. Also if your carb doesnt have the center jet flathead screw to pullout, take whatever works and send it thru the center hole to open up that small passage..if all else fails spend the 6 bucks and buy a new carburetor..if any issues reachout on here again.

most rarely exceed 2600 psi as these can blow right through your hand..gpm maybe 40-45..there should be a plate with all that on the unit..

Previous owner had way overfilled crankcase oil. Oil had gotten into carb and clogged air filter. Drained oil to correct level. Ran engine but kept cutting off-see above. Took off carb cover cleaned housing and ran without air filter-ran fine. Unsuccessfully tried to clean air filter with gas-did not work. Apparently, the engine could run just long enough to exhaust the air in the old filter and cut off which is why it would start back up after a few seconds. Bought new air filter-whole thing-about $15 at Carquest. Put in some carb cleaner and installed the new filter and it runs perfectly.

gas only lasts for 30 days in small engines try fresh fuel but you might need to clean the carb out

Is the garden hose connected and turned on?If so make sure that the trigger on the gun is being pulled while your trying to start the engine! The backed up pressure in the high pressure hose can mimic a blown or seized engine in this situation.

Your question sort of requires two answers as the max flow and max psi are not the same yet relate to one another.

The max flow is ~105 gpm at ~26 ft./hd or 11.3 psi.

The max psi (head) the pump can operate under is 40 psi or ~85 ft./hd at which flow is ~35 gpm.

In other words, in a pipe system with low resistance it moves up to 105 gpm and in a very complex system with lots of elevation changes and a lot of resistance the pump will move about 35 gpm.

PSI as read on a gauge on a filter attached to this pump will NOT be the same as the ratings I am giving you here.

Take out the spark plug and try pulling,if it is still hard then then there is a problem with the pull start mechanism.
Check the plug for oil fouling or fresh oil.If there is excessive oil you may have bad rings.

If in doubt, craftsman will honor the 1 year warranty no questions asked,for a new unit.

If they are the tires with the plastic rims then there was a recall and a local service center can replace them for free, if not I have tires that fit on this unit in stock, price is $13.33 each, send me a email at [email protected]

the water should take care of lube and cooling. word of warning...absulutely,positively,do not run this machine without water hooked up and running thru the pump. just a minute without water,and the pump will be junk!!!

It is possible that the oil pressure switch is not functioning properly or you have a lighter oil in the machine than is recommended.
