NEC vt460 Projector have a ghost problem on the screen

Check the ballast module. It controls the lamp operation

select Menu>>>[default]>>>[Clear Lamp Hour Meter]. do this after replacing the lamp.

it may be the fly-eye lens. it tends to fry due to excessive dust and heat. it'll need to be replaced. there are 2 of them. the first one is right inside the lamp housing. the second one is on the other side of that. the 2nd one is the one that is bad. you'll have to send it back in for repair. nec doesn't sell individual parts.

if it's blinking red, how many times? 1 time- lamp cover. 2 times- overheating. 4- fans. 6- lamp. if the lamp led is lit red, replace the lamp.

If the problem however persists , then you will have to get the Mainboard either repaired or replaced.

Firstly this ghosting image will NEVER be caused by your LCD's , so do not take them out.

Have you tried using a different cable ?

If you have and the problem still occurs , you will have to look at replacing the Mainboard.

reset the settings to factory default.

Replace the Lamp unit is the best solution. that will cost you around $450.
