Samsung lcd has green haze on dark screen on various inputs and when there is no device connected. Covers top of screen, right side and partial bottom. is there a reset somewhere to fix this? Tried holding down the exit button on the remote to reset picture settings but that did not help.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

IF YOU'RE USING A TV CABLE BOX, USE ITS REMOTE TO ADJUST THE PICTURE, NOT THE SAMSUNG REMOTE. CHOOSE "NORMAL", AND YOU'LL SEE EVERYTHING THAT'S BEING BROADCAST.
GOOD LUCK!

SOURCE: 42 inch samsung plasma tv black vertical lines
Hi, Depeending on the thickness of the lines matters. If the lines are Black and about 1-2 inches thick it may be a bad bottom buffer board or a bad panel (screen).
If the lines are thin 1/16 to 1/8 inch it is most likely a bad panel.
You can open up the set and depending on the model, see the thin board/boards running across the bottom with ribbon cables going to the panel. You may be able to attempt reseating the ribbon cables, but be careful as some retainer plugs break very easy.
If the lines are thick black and the reseating doesn't correct it you may be able to buy the coresponding buffer. Unfortunately some bottom buffers are actually part of the panel. If you are not comfortable taking it apart then call a professional but be aware labor charges start around $200 not counting parts, panels start at $600 up to over $1000
hope this helps
Thanks
Eric

Have the same problem and C21 fixed my TV. I had to use a Trhu-hole capacitor 10uF/35V that I found at Radio Shack for $1.59. Its hard to find the exact SMD component but with little patience you can do the job. Thanks a lot!
Inspect where the dark streaks are on the television. If the streaks occur at the same place on the top and bottom of the screen, they are due to the formatting of a movie or television show you are watching. This is normal. Also, if the streaks appear on the left and right of the screen, they are due to the show being filmed in full-screen instead of wide-screen. This also is normal.
Change the input setting so you are viewing the contents of a different device. If the dark streaks are gone, you know they are due to the device connected to it. However, if the dark streaks remains no matter what input the TV is connected to, the problem lies with the television.
